The invention relates to a vehicle body panel part, particularly a vehicle roof panel, which has a very good surface quality. The vehicle body panel part includes an outer part forming at least a portion of an outer skin, a plastic inner layer formed by back foaming on a rear side of the outer part, and at least an elongated, tubular hollow body that is embedded in the plastic inner layer. The hollow body is completely enclosed and surrounded by the inner layer.

A vehicle roof module includes an outer skin and a foamed backing on a rear side of the outer skin. At least one elongated hollow element is embedded in the foamed backing. The elongated hollow element acts as a support for add-on components and may also house signal transmission components, such as cables.

A deformation element, in particular for use in motor vehicles, comprises a first base part and a second base part. The first base part includes at least one protrusion which tapers starting from the first base part The second base part includes at least one recess which tapers from a front side to a rear side thereof and is associated to the protrusion.

A seal for the guide of an openable vehicle roof has an elastic sealing profile and a harder sealing strip that is mounted thereon and that is configured as a separate part. When the seal must be compressed, in order to make space for a connecting member between the longitudinal guide and the raised cover panel, only the sliding strip is contacted so that the sealing element is not subjected to any wear and tear.

A vehicle roof having a roof frame and a roof module permanently and fixedly attached to the roof frame has a rigid safety element on the lower side of the roof module. The safety element engages the roof frame and holds the roof module on the roof frame in the event of a plastic deformation of the roof frame.
