An arrangement for filling coal in oven chambers of a coke oven battery has a telescopable filling tube mountable on a filling car and having a lower end which is lowerable to a filling hole frame of a filling hole of a coke oven battery, an upper sealing ring arranged on an outer side of the upper end of a lower tubular piece and a lower sealing ring arranged on an outer side of the lower end of the lower tubular piece of the filling tube, and each having the shape of a portion of a sphere and being provided with upwardly and downwardly directed circular segment-shaped outer surfaces, an additional sealing ring arranged on an inner side of the lower end of an upper tubular piece of the filling tube and having an outer surface which is inclined upwardly, a contact ring loosely located on the lower sealing ring and corresponding to the latter, a filling hole frame sealing ring extending in a funnel-shaped manner into the filling hole opening and has a sealing surface with a spherical cross-section, elastic sealing rings arranged between the filling hole frame-sealing ring and the filling hole frame, and a lifting device actuating the filling hole frame-sealing ring so as to vertically lift and lower the latter.

Arrangement for filling coal in oven chambers of a coke oven battery

The leveller bar for leveling a coal heap formed during a charging process under charging holes of an oven compartment of a coke oven block has two vertical plates connected with each other and spaced parallel from each other a distance (a) according to a width of the oven compartment and spaced from each other by spacing rods. Each deflecting and entraining device (2) does not extend over the entire distance a between the vertical plates (1) and the coal deflecting and entraining devices (2) extend alternately successively from one or the other of the plates (1) toward the opposite plate. Advantageously they can be equal-sided angular sections.

A filling car for filling coal into oven chambers of a coke oven battery comprises an immovable filling connecting piece mountable on a coal container, a filling pipe closely surrounding the connecting piece and having a lower end lowerable to a filling opening frame of filling openings of a coke oven battery, the filling pipe also having an upper end, and a housing arranged on the upper end of the filling pipe and accommodating an elastic sealing ring, the sealing ring surrounding the connecting piece and being displaceable with the filling pipe and also pressed against the filling pipe during a filling process so as to provide a sealing between the filling pipe and the connecting piece.

A filling car for filling coal in oven chambers of a coke oven battery comprises a telescopable filling pipe having an upper part and a lower part and a lower end to be lowerable to a filling frame of a filling opening of a coke oven battery, a supporting ring in which the lower part of the filling pipe is supported for turning about a horizontal axis, a liftable and lowerable supporting bracket in which the supporting ring is held, a mechanism for suspending the lower part of the filling pipe in the supporting ring and including two oppositely located hinge arms, and a mechanism for holding the supporting ring on the supporting bracket and including two oppositely located pivot pins arranged so that the supporting ring is turnable about a horizontal axis relative to the supporting bracket, the hinge arms and the pivot pins being offset relative to one another by 90.degree..

Filling car for a coke oven battery

An improved duct system is provided for collecting gases from the coke side of a battery of coke-oven chambers with vertical flues in which a coke guide is mounted for movement along the ovens on rails, in which the coke transport car is mounted for movement on rails along the ovens adjacent the coke guide, and in which a stationary main collection duct with a belt covered slot is provided adjacent the transport car rails. An extraction hood is provided for covering the transport car and connecting the discharge end of the coke guide with the transport car. The hood has an integral connecting line adapted to be connected between a gas collection duct above the coke guide and a gas transfer device movable on the main duct under the belt for directing the gases into the main duct. Also integral with the extraction hood are two gas outlet ducts, one on each side of the connecting line, separate from the connecting line, for connecting the extraction hood to the gas transfer device.

An improvement is provided for equipment for collecting, extracting and purifying gases arising on the coke side of a battery of coke oven chambers with vertical heating flues in which a triangular frame is provided for carrying the hood which overhangs the loading area of the quench truck and which is movable alongside the oven chambers. The triangular frame is supported at each corner by wheel assemblies. One wheel assembly is mounted for movement along the gas gallery track which also supports the coke batch conveying truck and the other two wheel assemblies are mounted on a track on top of the gas collection duct running alongside the coke oven chambers. A sealing flap is provided to automatically seal the coke batch guide to the hood when the guide is in contact with an oven chamber.

A container for loose material, in particular for hot coal, during the operation of a coke oven battery including a novel deflecting means for directing particulate matter located in the gas emanating from the loose material back into the container to reduce the flow of particulate matter out of the container to minimize air pollution. The deflecting means is in the shape of an umbrella-shaped guide plate which is adjustable relative to the container to control an annular outlet opening for the gas. In the annular opening are located settling plates to further minimize the flow of particulate matter out of the container.
