A compensator () is provided for compensating thermal expansions of ducts or pipelines () for carrying flows of hot media, especially ducts that are lined with fire-proof material. The compensator () is easy to maintain and is relatively simple in its design. This compensator () permits inspection of the operability of the expansion gap () between adjacent sections of the pipeline () and its elastic temperature-resistant jointing material () from the outside of the pipeline. The expansion gap () in the flame-proof lining is arranged in a cross section plane of the pipeline that is adjacent to but below the cross section plane of the corrugated pipe compensator () attached to the steel sheet jackets () of adjacent sections of pipeline (). The steel sheet jackets () are spaced from one another in the area of the expansion gap () and the elastic temperature-resistant jointing material () is easily accessible from outside the pipeline upon removal of jacket parts () forming a collar around the expansion gap ().

Compensator for compensating thermal expansions

A hot gas cyclone separator is provided with a segmented dip tube whose smooth sheet metal dip-tube segments have tops which are securely fastened to a cap of the separator in hook like manner by U-shaped angle rails. The adjacent lower ends of the dip-tube segments may also be interconnected by angle rails having U-shaped profiles which serve to protect the lower end of the dip tube from excessive wear caused by the impinging hot gas/solids suspension.

Cyclone separator

In order to create a device like a shuttle sluice for sluicing or distributing a hot meal-form material flow, in particular for cement plant construction, whose shuttle valve or shuttle valves is or are easy and inexpensive to repair or renew in case of wear and tear, a shuttle sluice is provided, whose shuttle valve has at least two parts and comprising of an upper suspension part and a lower expendable part, whereby the upper suspension part and the lower expendable part of the shuttle valve are stiff or rigid, i.e., detachably connected to each other, not hinged or pivoted to each other.

Device for sluicing a hot meal-form material

A heat-resistant and wear-resistant insertion element or segment of a segmented dip tube suitable for use in a refractory-lined cyclone of a cement clinker production line. The insertion element, is capable of being fabricated and installed with a length greater than 120 cm, and is distinguished by a long service life. The insertion element may be a composite structure made of a metallic carcass or sheet ( ) and a metallic mesh with webs ( ) forming lattice-shaped openings which are filled with a heat-resistant ceramic composition ( ).

Cement clinker production apparatus having a precalcination stage connected upstream of a rotary kiln, in which precalcination stage a CO-containing reduction zone in the rotary kiln off-gas duct is employed for the purpose of reducing the pollutant NO . In order to make certain that the quantitative ratio of O in the rotary kiln off-gas to fuel admitted by a deNO burner, and thus control the effectiveness of NO reduction, a pivoting throttle valve ( ) is positioned in the precalcination stage to control the quantity of rotary kiln off-gas and thus the O content in the kiln off-gas. The throttle valve ( ) is positioned in the rotary kiln off-gas duct ( ) above the deNO burner ( ), above the raw meal inlet ( ), and before the confluence of the tertiary air substream with the rotary kiln off gas. The throttle valve ( ) is pivotable about an articulation ( ) at the bottom side of the valve so that the flow of the rotary kiln off-gas remains laminar, thus enhancing the reaction length of the CO-containing reduction zone ( ).

Apparatus for thermal processing of raw material in meal form

In order to create a cyclone separator with segmented immersion pipe for cement clinker manufacturing system with cyclone suspension type heat exchanger system, whereby the releasable immersion pipe segment fastening is dependable and is distinguished by a long service life, it is inventively proposed to secure the immersion pipe segments at their upper end with releasable screw bolts, whereby the screw bolts are arranged in spacer sleeves distributed around the immersion pipe circumference that respectively comprise at least one window-like opening at the outside for the access of ambient air as coolant for the immersion pipe segment fastening.

A cement plant for the production of cement clinker from cement raw meal has a flat plate shaped control element for distributing and/or transporting-feeding a stream of hot flour-like material which is subjected to severe thermochemical and abrasive ware. the service life of the control element is greatly increased by constructing it as a hollow body (19, 22) through which coolant flows from at least one inlet opening to at least one discharge opening.

Device for distributing and/or feeding a hot flour-like material

A cyclone heat exchanger particularly adapted for direct heat exchange between a granular product and hot exhaust gases from a kiln used in the production of cement, the heat exchanger comprising a housing, a gas feed pipe introducing hot gases tangentially of the housing, a cover extending across the top of the housing, a discharge at the base of the housing for discharging product therefrom. The improvement consists of an immersion pipe extending through the cover and into the housing, the immersion pipe consisting of a plurality of segments extending in the longitudinal direction of the immersion pipe. Holding devices are provided for releasably holding segments in the cover.
