An armrest for motor vehicle seats has an armrest body with a storage compartment and a cover which constitutes an arm support and is articulated on the armrest body. A receptacle for an accessory such as a telephone is disposed in the storage compartment and a mechanism is provided for moving the receptacle from the storage position to the use position. To provide improved ergonomics the receptacle is supported by two pairs of links in the base region of the storage compartment and, when the cover is open, it can be pivoted by the links from a storage position in the vicinity of the base into an operating position above the armrest body. The carriage has an extension arm by which the accessory can be moved into a predetermined use position.

A device for heating a passenger space in a power vehicle comprises a main passage for supplying air, an intermediate passage associated with the main passage and branching into side passages connected with a passenger space, a heat exchanger, a branching passage leading from the main passage over the heat exchanger, a guiding element movable between and fixable in at least two end positions for air to connect the branching passage with the main passage and to separate the former from the latter so that in a flow direction of the air the air enters behind the heat exchanger in the intermediate passage, a blowing nozzle opening in a passenger space and connected with the intermediate passage, the intermediate passage being subdivided in partial passages, one of the partial passages being connected with the blowing nozzle while the other of the partial passages merging into the side passages, the guiding element in its operative position in which it connects the branching passage with the main passage opens a channel to one of the partial passages and blocks the other of the partial passages.

In order to reduce the interior noise level in an automobile, the vibration excitation of the front region of the floor panel is reduced by means of localized gaps between front longitudinal members, on the one hand, and the floor panel, on the other hand, as well as through support of the longitudinal members by a cross member in an approximately middle region of the sill members only, whereas the vibration excitation of the rear region of the floor panel is increased, so that in the head region of the vehicle occupants airborne vibration components are present which in amplitudes as well as phases are suitable to extinguish one another by means of interference.
