A cutter for self-adhesive labels has a top part and a bottom part and a feeding gap between the top part and the bottom part. The cutter includes further a cutting mechanism having a blade and coupled to one of the top part and the bottom part. Further, the cutter has a transport and guiding device for the labels, wherein the transport and guiding device includes a transport roll located opposite the cutting mechanism. The feeding gap receives an adhesive paper or label sheet and the transport roll pulls the adhesive paper or label sheet through the feeding gap. The adhesive paper or label sheet passes between the cutting mechanism and the transport roll, and the blade cuts the adhesive paper or label sheet against a curved surface of the transport roll.

A cutting device for strip stock includes a stationary blade and a motor-driven, movable blade that continuously contacts against the stationary blade, constituting a point of support. Two other points of support for the movable blade are equally spaced from the cutting edge of the blade and from the sides of the blade. The other two supporting points also function as blade drive points for moving the blade in a reciprocating manner. The drive points are connected to an output shaft of the motor through a gear assembly. A pair of ball bearings on each side of the blade, which are laterally spaced from each other on each respective side of the blade, cooperate with the blade to achieve a very low friction for the device during operation.

This invention relates to a tape winder for winding paper tapes, such as are particularly used as printed paper tapes in tape printer for documentation purposes, which tape winder comprises a driven reel hub, feeding and deflecting rollers and a tape tensioner arm. The reel hub is forklike and is laterally extractable to a limited extent and comprises preferably four winding rods, which are spaced 90.degree. apart so that the tape coil can freely be removed from the winder when the reel has been extracted.

This invention relates to an electromechanically operable apparatus for severing strip, such as a paper tape or plastic film tape, which is dispensed by a power-operated dispenser. A swingable cutter blade is connected to a crank, which is operated by a gear train via an eccentric drive and a connecting rod, which is provided with a cam track cooperating with the crank. In dependence on the condition of the cam track and the sense of rotation of a motor for driving the gear train the extent of the angular movement imparted to the swingable cutter blade can be selected for the making of a complete cut or a partial cut through the strip.

This invention relates to metal-coated credit cards and to appliances for marking said credit cards in order to make deductions from the credit represented by the card. It is an object of the invention to provide such a card and marking appliance which can be used for an automatic accounting of services used for merchandise taken, such as copies taken from automatic copiers. For this purpose the metal-coated credit card which is adapted to be marked by a marking appliance in order to make deductions from the credit represented by the card has electrically conductive areas separated by electrically non-conducting areas. The credit card comprises a code-representing area, particularly at one edge of the card, and a credit-representing area which is spaced from the edges of the card and can be electrically marked in incremental areas in order to make deductions from the credit represented by the card.

At least one presetting digit wheel consists of a rotatably mounted digit-carrying wheel part, a rotatably mounted resetting wheel part, and a non-positive two-way coupling means connecting the digit-carrying wheel part and the resetting wheel part for joint rotation. A rotatably mounted resetting shaft is provided. A frame carries a track. A voltage-applying circuit is carried by said frame and comprises a plurality of contact segments. An electrode holder is carried by said frame and in sliding contact with said track and movable relative to said circuit along said track between inoperative and operative positions. A plurality of leaf springs are carried by said electrode holder. Each of said leaf springs comprises a sliding contact portion protruding from said electrode holder and arranged to be in sliding contact with an associated one of said contact segments when said electrode holder is in said operative position. Each of said leaf springs comprises also a marking electrode portion protruding from said electrode holder and adapted to engage said metal coated paper when said electrode holder is in said operative position, and to be lifted from said paper when said electrode holder is in said inoperative position.
