An adsorbent, supple, filter fabric composed of an air-permeable, supple, textile, carrier material having adsorbent particles fixed on it by means of a thermoplastic binding agent. The adsorbent particles are coated on their surface with binding-agent particles which are set apart from each other. The average diameter of the binding-agent particles is smaller than that of the adsorbent particles. The adsorbent particles are also bonded to each other by binding-agent particles. The coating of the carrier material with adsorbent material is over 200 g/m.sup.2. The fabric has a total thickness of 0.5 to 5 mm, and its suppleness permits a bending radius of not more than 5 mm able to be carried out free of destruction. The filter fabric is manufactured by first mixing absorbent and binding-agent particles while adding water. The mixing is followed by carrying out the following steps in continuous sequence: sprinkling of the mixture on the textile carrier material, heating above the start of melting of the binding agent, and cooling off and rolling up of the resultant supple filter fabric. The product can be used in air purification systems as well as for protective clothing.

Adsorbent, supple, filter fabric and method for its manufacture

An adsorption air filter has a self-supporting shaped structure of adsorber particles of regular or irregular form, which are joined to one another by binder particles also of regular or irregular form. The melting range of the binder particles is less than that of the adsorber particles, and the binder particles are smaller than the adsorber particles. The adsorber particles have an average size of 100 to 7000 .mu.m. The three-dimensional structure of the air filter has substantially repeating units of one adsorber particle and one binder particle, without the presence of agglomerates. The binder must not spread over the adsorber surface below 100.degree. C. In the production method, adsorber and binder particles are mixed with water and heated in a closed mold under pressure; the water is then driven off and the shaped element is allowed to cool.

Adsorption air filter and method for its production

A pasty molding compound, which is reactive only above room temperature and is intended for manufacturing temperature-resistant, elasticized duromer molded components, consists of a dimerized trimethylol propane (melting point 109.degree. C., molecular weight 250, OH number 900) and of 1 to 625 parts by weight (per 100 parts of methylene diphenyldiisocyanate) of low-molecular weight and an isocyanate-limited polyesterpolyol-diisocyanate-prepolymer, prepared from polycaprolactone and an isomeric mixture of the toluenediisocyanate. This masterbatch, which has an NCO excess of up to 15% over the equivalent quantity of the free OH components can be fortified with fillers and is moldable at low pressures. Furthermore, its application as an impregnating agent for glass-fiber mats to be molded is provided.

Method for preparing a latently reactive, pastly molding compound made

This invention is directed to a latently reactive pasty molding material (masterbatch), which only becomes reactive above ambient temperature (about 25.degree. C.), for producing temperature-resistant, elasticized, molded, duromer components which is comprised of a mixture of a methylene-diphenyl diisocyanate and a diamine which is not reactive at ambient temperature, but is reactive above about 120.degree. C., which is selected from the group consisting of an alkali-halide salt complex, which is the reaction product of three moles at 4,4'-diphenylmethane diamine and of one mole halide salt, and alternatively a hexamethylene-6,6'-diamine carbamate; and about 1 to 625 parts by weight (per 100 parts methylene-diphenyl diisocyanate) of a low-molecular weight isocyanate-terminated polyesterpolyol-diisocyanate prepolymer, produced from polycaprolactone and a mixture of the toluylene diisocyanate isomers. The mixture has a NCO excess of up to 15% more than the sum of the free OH-- and NH.sup.2 -- constituents. It can be modified with fillers and is moldable at low pressures. The molding material of this invention is also useful as an impregnating agent for the glass-fiber mats.

Method of making a latently reactive, pasty molding material

The invention disclosed herein relates to a method for the preparation of finely dispersed polyurethane ureas. The method comprises the steps of first preparing a chain extended polyurethane from at least one diisocyanate, at least one polydiol, and diol chain extenders. The chain-extender component of the reaction is comprised of low molecular weight diols having side chains or ether groups, unbranched low molecular weight diols and/or monofunctional compounds having an active hydrogen such as the amines, amides or alcohols. The chain extended polyurethane is then treated with a nonionic emulsifier and emulsified first with warm water, and then with cold water. A diamine or a mixture of diamines is then added to the emulsion.

Method for the preparation of finely dispersed polyurethane ureas

The invention described herein relates to a method for preparing a low-melting polyurethane which comprises the reaction of at least one diisocyanate, at least one polyol having a molecular weight between 500 and 5000, at least one diol which is branched or includes an ether group, and at least one diol which is unbranched. The diols have a molecular weight of less than about 500. The hydroxyl group content of the reaction mixture exceeds or equals the isocyanate content of the reaction mixture.

Elastic, temporarily adhesive polyurethanes are produced by reaction of a polyol having a molecular weight in excess of about 500, a diisocyanate and a chain lengthener, the diisocyanate being present in about 0.4 to 1.4 times the weight of the polyol and in about 3.5 to 12.5 times the molar amount of the polyol, the chain lengthener having active hydrogen atoms and being present in about 3 to 12 times the molar amount of the polyol, the chain lengthener having a molecular weight of less than about 300, more than about 50 mole % of each of the polyol and diisocyanate units and up to about 50 mole % of the chain lengthener units comprising linear aliphatic C.sub.6 units.
