A method and a device monitors the quality of gaseous media dispensed by a filling station, in particular hydrogen, by an infrared measuring system. The infrared measuring system is connected into the dispensing path of the respective gaseous medium extending from the filling station to a consumer, and measures the transmission of infrared radiation at different wavelengths and different pressures. From the transmission measurements, the concentration of contaminants, which influence the quality, is calculated. At least when predetrminable quality parameters are exceeded, this exceeding is indicated.

A hydropneumatic piston accumulator has an accumulator housing () with a cylindrical tube () defining a longitudinal axis (). The cylindrical tube () is closed at both ends by housing covers (). A piston () is longitudinally movable in the cylindrical tube () and separates a working chamber () for a compressible medium from a working chamber for an incompressible medium. A displacement measuring device determines the position of the piston () in the housing in a contact-free manner. The displacement measuring device includes a non-magnetic measuring tube () extending along the longitudinal axis () from one housing cover () to the other housing cover () and through a passage () formed in the piston () and is sealed against the interior of the housing (). In the tube (), a position sensor () is movably guided and follows the piston movements in the measuring tube () using a magnetic force acting between the piston sensor () and the piston (). A transmitter/receiver () for the displacement measuring device is positioned on one of the housing covers () and emits a measurement beam through the open end () of the measuring tube () to the position sensor () and receives reflected radiation.

An ultrasonic displacement measurement system for hydraulic accumulators () has a movable separating element () separating two media chambers () from each other in a media-tight manner within a housing (). One media chamber () holds a compressible fluid or an incompressible fluid. The other media chamber () holds a compressible working gas. The particular position of the movable separating element () within the housing () can be detected by an ultrasonic sensor () that performs the position detection of the separating element () on the side of the media chamber () having the compressible fluid. Fluid () with particles is conveyed by a first metering pump () to a device () for measuring the contamination or the particle density in the contaminated fluid (). Before entering the device () for measuring the contamination, the fluid is mixed with cleaned fluid () in a defined mixing ratio. The particle density or the contamination of the mixed fluid () is measured. The particle density or the contamination of the contaminated fluid () is determined by an arithmetic unit ().

System determines the position of a control element of an electrically driven actuator. The actuator may be switched on by a controlled switch when a lower threshold value is reached and may be switched off when an upper threshold value is reached. An on-period and an off-period are determined as a function of the lower threshold value, the upper threshold value, and the electric switching behavior of the actuator depending on the position of the control element. From the on-period and the off-period, the position of the control element are determined from a comparison of the quotient of the on-period or off-period and the sum of the on-period and off-period, and from a comparison of the sum of the on-period and the off-period with corresponding stored reference data. The system includes accompanying circuitry for application of the process, and an accompanying device, in particular a hydraulic valve.
