Pulley for driving the shaft of a water pump, especially a pump for the cooling system of an internal combustion engine, the shaft being designed to be integral with a pulley body carrying the rim of the pulley, characterized in that the rim (15, 25, 31, 37) is designed as a sleeve and is attached to the pulley body (13, 22, 29, 39) in a form-locking or friction-locking manner.

Pulley for drive shaft for a water pump and method for making the same

In a drive device for pumps consisting of a pump impeller mounted in a pump chamber, a pump cover covers the pump chamber and has an extension and a bore passing from the pump chamber to the outside. A shaft is connected at its inner end to the pump impeller and at its outer end in a torsion-proof manner by way of a coupling element to a drive wheel. A bearing supports the shaft and drive wheel in the housing bore and extension respectively. The coupling element is formed by an external edge rigidly connected to the drive wheel and covers the outer bearing and the extension laterally on the outside. A cover plate with a center section connects in a torsion-proof manner to the shaft, and is adjusted to elastically adjust the cover plate relative to the pump cover either inward toward the pump chamber or outward away from the pump chamber, thereby providing for automatic adjustment of the radial and axial load-supporting bearings means to remove their play.

Drive mechanism for pumps

The non-rotating bearing ring of a pivot mounted roller is mounted to be radially movable on an undulated spring and axially held between two machine parts. Friction is produced by relative radial movement between the end surface of the bearing ring and the radially extending surfaces of the machine parts, to result in damping by dissipation of energy. The rubbing surfaces can be coated with friction layer or a solid sliding washer can be employed instead of a coated surface.

Pivot mounted roller

A seal for a rolling bearing having an inner bearing ring, an outer bearing ring, and rolling elements rolling in races therebetween, wherein a cover is affixed to the outer bearing ring and carries a sealing lip engaging the side surface of a groove adjacent an end of the inner bearing ring. A shoulder at the end of the inner bearing ring defines a gap seal with the cover. The cover extends substantially normal to the axis of the bearing and the sealing lip is either slightly conically inclined, or defines an annular outwardly extending groove.

Rolling bearing seal

For adjustment of the relative positions of two machine parts, at least one of the machine parts is provided with projections outwardly formed by stamping, the projections having contact surfaces which lie against the other machine part. The adjustment is performed by setting the projections back under the influence of a pressing force according to requirements. By this operation a relatively large contact surface can be provided. The deformation process takes place exclusively in the transition region between the projection and the rest of the machine part. The restoring forces are relatively small and relatively constant over the entire restoring range.

Method for adjustment of machine parts

An arrangement for adjustment of a rolling bearing which is radially and axially movable inside a sleeve. A helical spring is arranged with prestress between the base of the sleeve and a side surface of the outer ring of the rolling bearing. The terminal windings of the spring are radially restrained by form-locking with projections on the base and the side surface.

Arrangement for adjustment of rolling bearing

A sealed rolling bearing in which the seal consists of a sealing lip and a sealing projection connected to a sealing body. When the sealing body is seated in a groove formed in the outer ring, the sealing lip abuts a side surface of a groove formed in the inner ring with prestress. The sealing lip and sealing projection abut under the influence of the prestress to form a conical, outwardly directed centrifugal surface for ejecting moisture and dirt through a gap seal formed between the sealing projection and a shoulder of the bearing inner ring.

Sealed rolling bearing

A tension or idler roller for a belt drive system has an outer roller for engaging a belt, an inner support body adapted to be affixed to a machine, and a rolling bearing between the outer roller and the support body. The support body is comprised of a pair of identical cup-shaped elements oriented either with their open ends toward one another or their closed ends toward one another, the shells having an eccentric mounting. The inner ring of the bearing may be a separate element or it may be formed in the shells.

Tension roller

In an antifriction-bearing throwout, particularly for automotive clutches, a clutch bearing with a non-rotating bearing-ring abuts in a radially slidable manner against a thrust plate of a sliding sleeve and is held in the centered position. To facilitate centering of the clutch bearing in relation to the tongue ends of the clutch diaphragm-spring, and to prevent slip-through of the clutch bearing in the case of shock as by hard road-bumps, the non-rotating bearing-ring is arranged in a manner such that, overcoming a radially-acting friction force in relation to sliding sleeve, it can tilt in a circumferential direction, within certain limits, and can slide in a radial direction along two guide-surfaces that run parallel to one another.

Antifriction-bearing throwout, particularly for automotive clutches

Coupling release assembly comprising a sliding sleeve and a coupling bearing having a fixed bearing ring connected with a radially oriented flange of the sliding sleeve and a rotating bearing ring having a contact surface for a coupling lever, a socket of generally U-shaped cross section consisting of two half moon-shaped shells secured to the outer periphery of a flange of the sliding sleeve and the fixed bearing ring and biasing member urging the fixed bearing ring and flange of the sliding sleeve in prestressed contact with the opposing radially inwardly directly sides of the socket member.

Coupling release, particularly for pulling action couplings

A cage for ball bearings consists of two side rings connected together by webs, and having ball pockets with ball pockets having curved partial surfaces inside and outside of the pitch circle and displaced from one another in the axial direction. In this arrangement the rubbing between the walls of the cage pockets and the balls is very small and free space is provided for receiving a lubricant. The pocket walls of the cage sections lying in the region of one or the other of the side rings has several radially-overlying zones, with conical surfaces, the conical surfaces being arranged at different inclinations to the bearing axis.

Cage for ball bearings, especially for inclined ball bearings

A self aligning bearing structure, especially adapted for electric motors, has an outer ring with a plastic jacket thereon. A housing for supporting a bearing has a cylindrical seat for receiving the outer ring. The plastic jacket has one annular central ridge of greater diameter, in the unassembled condition, than the seat, so that the annular ridge is compressed to substantially the compression limit when the outer ring is assembled in the seat. The plastic jacket may have a conical end to simplify assembly.

Self-aligning bearing

A torque transmitting assembly consisting of a shaft mounted in the housing and a plurality of rolling elements arranged in rows in the annular space between the shaft and the housing. The shaft has a series of axially extending grooves defining elongated inner raceways for the rolling elements. The assembly further includes a bearing race plate for each of the rows of rolling elements having an elongated raceway groove formed therein defining the outer raceway for the rolling elements. Each of the race plates has a layer of a plastically deformable material on the outer surface opposite the raceway and a series of screws mounted in the housing having a cupped point engageable with the deformable material to fix each of the bearing race plates in an axial and peripheral direction to thereby facilitate torque transmission from the shaft to the housing in either direction of rotation of the shaft.

A bearing arrangement for a driving wheel of a vehicle consisting of a rolling bearing and a shaft coupling, wherein the bearing rings of the rolling bearing have a flange for fastening the bearing arrangement to the vehicle frame and a flange for holding the wheel. In order to provide an economical construction and a simple assembly of the wheel bearing arrangement, which also has good shock absorbing characteristics, the driven part of the shaft coupling is preferably of a fiber-strengthened plastic material and is interconnected with an interference fit with the inner ring of the rolling bearing.
