A modular furnace, in particular for the oxidative stabilization of a carbon fiber starting material comprising a cuboidal furnace chamber, on the upper face of which first deflecting rollers are arranged in a mutually spaced and parallel manner and on the lower face of which second deflecting rollers are arranged in a mutually spaced and parallel manner such that the carbon fiber starting material runs upwards and downwards in a laterally adjacent and slightly spaced manner so as to meander vertically in the area of the furnace chamber. A carbon fiber inlet locking device and a carbon fiber outlet locking device are provided on the upper face of the furnace chamber, and an air guiding device is connected to the furnace chamber. A supply air portion of the air guiding device is connected to a vertical air inlet side of the furnace chamber, and a discharge air portion of the air guiding device is fluidically connected to a furnace chamber vertical air outlet side opposite the vertical air inlet side. The air guiding device has an air drive device between the supply air portion and the discharge air portion.

A heating device for producing carbon fibers from a thread-shaped fiber starting material, wherein the heating device has a central tubular induction heating element through which the fiber starting material is moved. The tubular induction heating element is surrounded by thermal insulation. At least one mid- to high-frequency induction coil is provided outside the thermal insulation, and an inert gas flows through the central induction heating element, in particular, for carbonizing and/or graphitizing the fiber starting material. For energy optimization, a first and a second tube element is provided on the outer side of the thermal insulation. The elements are made of material that is transparent to the induction field of the mid- to high-frequency induction coil and are spaced apart from one another by an annular gap through which the inert gas flows.

An apparatus for the production of short cooking time rice has a microwave furnace with a tunnel made from a suitable material, wherein the rice packed into packages is movable within the tunnel by a conveyor. Regarding the easy and short process, a remarkable energy saving is possible.

Process and apparatus for the production of short cooking time rice

In a microwave oven system comprising at least one magnetron of a given operating frequency and a mains unit for the at least one magnetron, the at least one magnetron of a given operating frequency is replaceable by a magnetron of another operating frequency. The magnetrons of the different operating frequencies have at least approximately the same mechanical dimensions so that they can be easily replaced quickly. The mains unit can be used for the different magnetrons in unchanged form or in a form involving minor modifications, without any change in the electrical parameters or with a slight change therein, thereby affording interchangeability of the various magnetrons.

Microwave oven system

A method for manufacturing coated short fibers, in which the short fibers are coated in a reactor with at least one coating agent. The method includes exposing a short fiber bundle having a coating or a plastic matrix to a high-frequency field which dissolves the coating or the plastic matrix. The fiber bundle is separated into individual fibers and are coated by chemical vapor deposition on all sides by at least one coating agent present in a gas phase. A combination of mechanical and microwave treatment is preferably provided to loosen the short fiber bundles.

Method for manufacturing coated short fibers

A continuous microwave furnace (10) with furnace modules (12) is described, which modules, in a series of sequential placement, one after the other, form a heated zone. On the respective housing casing (14) is provided at least one microwave radiating source (30) located at a corresponding radiation window (31). In each respective furnace module (12) a sheet steel bottom (26) is furnished, this being adjustable as to height and is constructed with secondary radiating openings (28). In the continuous microwave furnace (10) is provided a transport apparatus (33), which is constructed of a conveyor belt or transport rollers. Air openings (35) can be supplied, neighboring the radiation window (31) of the respective microwave radiation source (30). The respective radiation source (30) is then combined with an air regulating apparatus (45). A microwave deflection device (52) can be correlated with the radiation window (31) of the respective microwave source (30) in the interior of the corresponding furnace module (12). The microwave radiation source (30) can be combined with a wave guide (62). The bunching of the microwave radiation is accomplished in this last named case by means of recesses (64) in the housing casing (14) of the furnace module (12), which recesses are provided in the area of the return conductor duct (62).

Continuous microwave furnace having a plurality of furnace modules

An apparatus for concentrating and solidifying a salt solution includes a vessel for containing the salt solution having an exposed surface, the vessel having a generally open upper portion, a cover for sealing the generally open upper portion of the vessel and having a generally hood shaped portion, the cover including at least one inlet conduit for admitting the salt solution to the vessel and a discharge conduit for vapor, and a magnetron for generating microwaves for heating the solution in the vessel. A microwave waveguide is disposed between the magnetron and the vessel and incorporates the cover, for directing microwaves from the magnetron into the vessel, the waveguide transitioning within the cover from the generally hood shaped portion into a horn having a variable cross-section and/or variable vertical spacing with respect to the vessel. This structure enables microwaves to be radiated directly onto the exposed surface of the salt solution in the vessel.

The present invention relates to an oven for heating an essentially liquid medium, especially a reactive casting material, flowing through the oven. The oven has an inlet into a channel for the medium to be heated, in which channel there is arranged a separate pipe through which the medium to be heated flows and in which it is heated by electromagnetic radiation. Several heating units are arranged along the channel, each of which comprises an electromagnetic radiator containing a waveguide. The waveguides guide the radiation to the channel through which the medium flows and which couples the radiation into that channel. The heating units are substantially decoupled from one another by means of a decoupling diaphragm that is provided in the channel and is arranged between two adjacent heating units or radiators essentially at right angles to the direction of flow. The pipe through which the medium flows passes through a passage in the decoupling diaphragm, thus also constituting a support for the pipe.
