In devices for measuring the mass of aspirated air of an internal combustion engine, for instance, via a line, it is already known to provide a tubular body inside this line and to provide a temperature-dependent measuring element inside the tubular body. In order that dirt particles and liquid droplets entrained by the aspirated air will be kept away from the measuring element, in accordance with the invention, a protective screen is disposed inside the tubular body, upstream of the measuring element; the screen extends in inclined fashion in the flow direction, and dirt particles and liquid droplets are deposited on it and carried to a downstream end of the protective screen, so that via an outflow opening they can reach the inner conduit wall of the tubular body and be made to bypass the measuring element.

Device for measuring at least one parameter of a flowing medium

The invention relates to a device for measuring at least one parameter of the intake air mass flow of an internal combustion engine. Fluid particles contained in the line act on a measuring element and influence a characteristic curve behavior of the measuring element used to determine parameters of the flowing medium. In order to reduce the action of fluid on the measuring element, the measuring element is disposed in a line or a tubular body, downstream of a protective screen, which deflects the medium flow and deflects the fluid particles. Downstream of the protective screen, longitudinal ribs, a suction opening, or a turbulence generator reduce the release of uncontrolled eddies.

Device for measuring at least one parameter of a medium flowing in a line

A device for measuring the mass of a flowing medium has a measuring element disposed in a measurement fitting. A flow rectifier that is provided upstream of the measuring element has flow openings that are separated from one another by intermediary pieces. A wire lattice is fastened to a tube of the flow rectifier extending in the direction of the measuring element. The tube of the flow rectifier has a number of fixing elements disposed offset from one another at a predetermined distance in which wires of the wire lattice are secured so that the wire lattice has a fixed configuration in relation to the intermediary pieces of the flow openings of the flow rectifier.
