An output stage includes a first transistor pair with a first conductivity type and a second transistor pair with a second conductivity type. The source connections of the first and second transistors in the first transistor pair and of the first and second transistors in the second transistor pair are respectively connected to a first and a second circuit node. The output stage further includes a first current mirror with the first conductivity type and a second current mirror with the second conductivity type. The current mirror transistors are connected to the signal output. The signal input is connected to control connections of the first transistors in the first and second transistor pairs. A second connection of the second transistor in the first transistor pair is connected to the second current mirror, and a second connection of the second transistor in the second transistor pair is connected to the first current mirror.

Output stage, amplifier control loop and use of the output stage

A circuit arrangement includes two adjustable amplification devices where the signal output of the first amplification device is connected to the signal input of the second amplification device. The first amplification device has a digital input for controlling its gain and the second amplification device has an input for controlling its gain. The input for gain control in the second amplification device is connected to the input for controlling the gain of the first amplification device via a means such that a change in the gain of the second amplification device in one direction is effected by a change in gain, brought about by means of the control, in the first amplification device in the opposite direction such that the total gain remains essentially the same.

Circuit arrangement and method for compensating for abrupt signal level changes in amplification devices

An amplifier having programmable amplification includes a transistor circuit having a plurality of negative feedback resistors, a switch being associated to a negative feedback resistor such that the negative feedback resistors of the transistor circuit can be activated and deactivated selectively by operating switches via a controller. Thus, a broadband amplifier having a high linearity can be implemented.
