The present invention relates to an ignition coil for ignition systems, in particular a rod ignition coil for internal-combustion engines, comprising at least one primary winding and at least one secondary winding, a high voltage being induced in the secondary winding when current flows in the primary winding. A ferromagnetic core is surrounded in part by the primary winding and the secondary winding and one of the two windings is additionally surrounded at least in part by the other. To provide an improved ignition coil which ensures increased reliability in operation and energy efficiency and a reduced risk of overheating during operation, at least one of the windings comprises at least one portion having an elevated winding density relative to the remaining winding density, the diameter of the innermost turns in the at least one portion being smaller than the diameter of the innermost turns in the remaining winding portions.

Ignition coil having an improved power transmission

The invention relates to a magnetic switch having a yoke which has the shape of a rotationally symmetrical cup on the base of which is arranged a permanent magnet. The flux of the permanent magnet is conducted via a core, which has a radial core flange, to the plate-shaped armature. For the operational air gap effective between the armature and the core and the yoke and the magnetic resistance W thereof, the following relation applies in relation to the marginal air gap formed between the core flange and the yoke: W <W . As a result of the rotational symmetry with a yoke having the shape of a cup, it is possible to generate a high holding force for the armature with a small structural volume.

Electromagnet system and method for assembling a core and a yoke in such a system

A single or double relay is provided. The relay has a base and a coil body. Each relay has a coil with an axis parallel to the bottom side of the base, an angled yoke and a plate-shaped armature. The armature is connected to a contact spring that is split into two fork-like legs. A contact leg carries a movable contact and a terminal leg that is connected to a spring carrier in the region in front of the movable armature end. With the double relay, the two armatures lie parallel at opposite ends of the base. The design yields a simple assembly with good heat dissipation particularly for a double relay for high switching currents.

Electromagnetic relay and method of manufacture thereof

An electromagnetic relay and methods for its manufacture are provided. The relay has a coil body with flanges and with at least one winding disposed between the flanges. A rod-shaped core is respectively arranged axially inside each winding. The yoke is secured against motion in the longitudinal direction and against pivotal movement in a coil flange by mounting elements. In addition, the first end of the core is connected on the side surface of the first yoke leg by welding or soldering. A double relay with first yoke legs disposed next to each other in parallel fashion is preferably created, whereby the core-yoke connection is produced in a simple manner and a good magnetic transition is ensured.

Electromagnetic relay

A relay (1), particularly a relay with solder terminal pins (13) connected onto a plug adaptor that is formed by a base (20) of insulating material with male plug elements for plugging the adaptor and relay into a circuit. The adaptor has a male connector member with a plurality of conductor elements embedded or inserted into the base and a plurality of high-current blades bent respectively off from the conductor elements. After soldering of the terminal pins (13) to the conductor segments (25), the base region surrounded by a circumferential wall (22) is filled with casting compound. As a result thereof, the arrangement is sealed on all sides and the adaptor with the blade is stabilized and strengthened, so that it can withstand high plugging forces.

Relay with a plug adaptor system and method for manufacturing same

In a relay system, a flat yoke leg (21) is provided at which a plate-shaped armature (3) is seated via an armature spring (10). The flat yoke leg is arranged generally parallel to an axis of a relay coil core (1). An armature plate (3) has an end face seated at a broad underside of the yoke leg (21). A bearing section (12) of the armature spring lies against an end face of the yoke leg (21) and extends to lie flatly against the armature, to which it is preferably secured. A pre-stress section (13) of the armature spring extends axially beyond the bearing section (12) and is hooked and biased against a retainer peg (25) fashioned as an extension of the yoke leg. As a result thereof, the armature is urged against a bearing edge (22) at the underside of the yoke leg. Moreover, the armature is biased into a normal quiescent position with a predetermined force which is adjustably dependent on the deflectable position of the retainer peg.

A method is provided for soldering a coil winding to a terminal pin. A specific quantity of solder is applied onto the terminal pin, the terminal pin having a winding end wrapped therearound. The solder, for example, can be applied by immersing the pin end into a solder bath having a temperature only slightly above the melting point of the solder. Subsequently, the solder is melted with a welding torch under a protective atmosphere only at a power and time required to achieve a soft-soldering temperature. As a result thereof, a soldering free of fluxing agent and without the high thermal stress of a welding is possible. Other embodiments include placing a ring of solder onto the terminal prior to heating. Also, a predetermined length of solder wire can be brought into contact with the terminal pin prior to heating. The invention provides a guide tube device for such a purpose.
