A modular plug connector with dual terminals for multiple wire conductor pairs, such as 20 conductors in 10 double pairs. The connector has a plurality of connection modules, a plurality of slide-in units and a wire guide insert in optional arrangements. This design permits the provision of individual functions for each of a plurality of pairs of wire conductors (each double terminal) and also mixed loading of the plug-in connector. Upon occurrence of errors it is possible to indicate error status for two respective wire conductors to a central unit by means of a slide-in unit.

The subject matter of the invention relates to a device having a unitary terminal element (1) of X-shaped cross-section, in which the conductor wire (2), especially aluminum or multi-wire copper conductors, is adapted to be inserted centrally into the slot (10) through two insertion openings (3, 4) each of which includes a V-shaped centering portions (6) and two offset cutting lances (7, 8) at the lower end thereof, said cutting lances being intended to rip open the conductor insulation at offset and opposite locations. The size of the conductor wire (2) to be terminated, the slot width, and the resilient slot walls (10a, 10b) determine the contact pressure. The air gap of the slot (10) has an automatic matching function (e.g. when the conductor material ages) and ensures a continually sufficient contact pressure.

The present invention relates to a wire connector for the incoming and outgoing wires of a telecommunications cable, in which the connector body (3) comprises a cover portion (1) and a bottom portion (2). For the termination of two wires (4) there is fixedly mounted a solderless, non-screwed, strip-free terminal (5) having a polytropic air gap, a resilient tab (7) having a crimped portion (6) being integrally formed at one end of said terminal (5) and the contact arms (5a) of said terminal (5) being offset relative to the cable axis at an angle of about 45 degrees. The bottom portion (2) of the connector body (3) is provided with either tubular or channel-like guide means (8, 8a) and clamping ribs (9), a cutting blade (10) for separating the cable wires being also inserted. The cover portion (1) is formed with an aperture (11) for insertion of a test prod (12).

Wire connector for telecommunications cables

The invention relates to a tool for the wiring of terminal elements which permits a plurality of separate operations such as connecting and withdrawing of a wire to and from a terminal element, respectively, and severing of the wire, to be carried out, and which may be manufactured at low cost because of its simple structure. To this end the tool comprises a bipartite plastic grip member (3) accommodating a ram (2) and a striker mechanism. On a protruding ram head (2a) there is provided a wire cutter (6) which may be actuated through a pin-and-slot guide (5, 6c) during a connecting operation. Locking means function to releasably connect the ram (2) to a slider (8) accommodated within the grip member (3) so as to be longitudinally movable.

Tool for electrically connecting insulated wires

The invention relates to a surge-protected cable joint for telecommunication networks, comprising a joint casing closed at either end and having axial cable inlets, and terminal strips for the cable wires secured in the casing interior. In order to permit connection of an increased number of cable wires without increasing the external dimensions while at the same time obtaining a higher resistance to surge currents, the individual terminal strips are disposed within the joint interior in a plurality of double rows arranged in series and each row is fixedly mounted within a trough, thus resulting in a wiring free from crossover points and in an increased number of connections. The receiving troughs (2, 2a) are bolted together in pairs with their bottoms adjacent each other, and are secured to lateral connecting rails (4). These connecting rails (4) in turn are mechanically and electrically coupled via support rails (6) to one of the end walls of the joint casing (1) and via an earth cable to a connecting bolt (5). Furthermore, surge arrester magazines (8) are detachably secured, e.g. by clamping, on the individual terminal strips.

The subject-matter of the invention is a device for electrically clamping or connecting a cable wire in the longitudinal slot of an upright terminal element, the laterally deflectable legs and lugs of which are not supported at their sides, e.g. by a plastic material. The device comprises a plunger (1) adapted to be longitudinally movable within a housing against the action of a coil spring (4) and carrying at its forward end a pressure member (1a). Said pressure member (1a) is disposed to be movable within a sleeve (3) fixed to the housing and has a shape matching the cross-sectional configuration of the terminal element. The projecting sleeve surrounds the outer faces of the components of the terminal element and supports the same laterally during the clamping operation. Furthermore the sleeve (3) comprises a cutting edge (3a) cooperating with a cutting edge formed on the pressure member (1a).

An electrical crimp connector has a plurality of two armed connecting elements made of a flat resilient contact material having a central slot. The main part of each slot extends from a widened entry aperture, is bounded by sharp edges and has a width less than the thickness of the metal core of a wire so that when the wire is pushed into the slot the insulation of wire is severed so the wire contacts the connecting element. A clamping element is associated with each connecting element and has a support surface on which the connecting element is fixed. The connecting elements are interconnected in pairs and have a number of interconnected clamping elements extending around them and are combined to form a unit having wire guides. The connecting elements are adapted to be plugged in on the support strip which is releasably connected to the insulating member on both sides of longitudinally extending lines, separate wire guides being provided on the parts which are releasable from one another.

Electrical crimp connector

A line telecommunications cable end system which is particularly suitable for installation in a rack, such as a casing, for supporting and fixing a lead-in cable end and for mounting terminal and/or isolating strips. The system comprises at least one pair of spaced, parallel earthing strips which each have a row of tags formed integrally on the top thereof. The tags extend through the end face of a corresponding number of terminal or isolating strips with LSA contacts and are of such a length that they can contact associated equipment such as a surge diverter.

The invention relates to a structure including a cleat connector for providing an electrical connection between an insulated wire and a bifurcated terminal element of electrically conductive resilient material. The terminal element includes a pair of leaf-spring contact arms lying in a plane and defined by a centrally located slot therein having sharp edges and adjoining an enlarged entry opening. The width of the slot is less than the diameter of the metallic conductor of the wire so that when the wire is pressed into the slot, the wire insulation is cut through, and an electrical connection is established between the wire conductor and the terminal element. A clamping element is associated with the terminal element for gripping the insulated wire.
