A coaxial high-frequency cable is described which having an inner conductor ( ), a dielectric spacer ( ) surrounding the inner conductor ( ), and a tubular outer conductor ( ) which is applied over the dielectric ( ) and which is concentric with the inner conductor ( ). To ensure operability in the event of a fire, the spacer is constructed from a combination of an insulating thermoplastic material and a mineral material.

Coaxial high-frequency cable

A high frequency coaxial cable (1) contains a concentric internal conductor (3), a cylindrical insulating layer (7) surrounding the internal conductor (3) and made of a foamed plastic containing more than 50% by volume of air, a tubular external conductor (9) placed over the insulating layer (7), and an outer sheath (11). Cutouts (15, 15') are made in the insulating layer (7) by removing insulation material starting at the periphery (13) of the insulating layer and extending radially inward. These cutouts (15, 15') make it possible to increase the dielectric properties of the insulating layer between internal conductor (3) and external conductor (9).

High frequency coaxial cable

A spacer is indicated for a high-frequency coaxial cable with an inner conductor, a tube-shaped outer conductor and a dielectric cavity located between the two conductors which, through the use of different materials, has a higher thermal load capacity in the inner conductor area than in the outer conductor area. When installed, the parts, which are composed of different materials and are superimposed in the radial direction, are mechanically interconnected.

Two part spacer for a high-frequency coaxial cable

A spacer is indicated for a high-frequency coaxial cable with an inner conductor, a tube-shaped outer conductor and a dielectric cavity located between the two conductors, which has a higher thermal load-carrying capacity in the inner conductor area than in the outer conductor area, due to the use of different materials. The parts of the spacer which are made of different materials are radially superimposed and are solidly interlocked with each other by means of injection molding.
