The absorbing wound dressing which is atoxic, tissue compatible and very well adjusted to the shape of the wound, it is easily removable, protecting from infections or reduces infections in that it absorbs, in addition to the wound excudate, bacteria, fungi, toxins, proteins and inflammation mediators and which is therefore suitable for covering and cleaning of strongly wetting, infected wounds, as well as effected areas in skin and tissue diseases, consists of potentially macroporous particulate mixtures of regenerated cellulose and a carboxylate groups containing polysaccharide derivative. For making it, viscose solutions, which contain the polysaccharide derivative are thermically coagulated, purified and dried, after the deformation.

Absorbing wound dressing and method for making the same

An absorbing dressing for wounds consists of spherical particles of regenerated cellulose of the size 0.05-0.5 mm and a macroporous structure characterized by the cyclohexane regain of the dry material at least 0.2 ml/g. The dressing is prepared from the regenerated cellulose swollen with water by replacement with organic solvents and the subsequent drying of the product swollen with the said solvent and impregnated with a therapeutically active compound.

Dressing for wounds and the method for manufacturing thereof

A process of making a wound dressing is suggested, in which a technical conventional viscose solution is mixed with a polysaccharide derivative; the mixture is treated at increased temperatures such that it is thermally coagulated; the coagulate is wetted with a polyalkylene glycol and dried, whereby a particulate structure of the wound dressing is produced.

Method of producing absorbing wound dressing

The invention pertains to the absorbing dressing for wounds, which consists of spherical particles of regenerated cellulose of the size 0.05-0.5 mm (preferably 0.05-0.3 mm) and a macroporous structure characterized by the cyclohexane regain of the dry material at least 0.2 ml/g. The dressing is prepared from the regenerated cellulose swollen with water by replacement with organic solvents and the subsequent drying of the product swollen with the said solvent. The porous structure of the dressing warrants that it can absorb excretions of the wound in the amount 1.5 to 5 g water per g of solids; the grainy macrostructure remains preserved during the absorption so that the material applied on the wound in the form of a powder in the layer 2-5 mm thick, in particular 2-3 mm thick, can be without difficulties and almost without pain rinsed away with water.
