Novel phenyl and heterocyclic tetrahydropyridyl and piperazinyl alkoxy benzheterocyclic compounds are described which have valuable neuroleptic properties by virture of their dopamine autoreceptor agonist activity. Methods of preparation, pharmeceutical compositions, and methods for treating psychoses, such a schizophrenia, are also described.
