The invention is directed to BAHD acyltransferase enzymes, nucleic acids encoding BAHD acyltransferase enzymes, and inhibitory nucleic acids adapted to inhibit the expression and/or translation of BAHD acyltransferase RNA; expression cassettes, plant cells, and plants that have or encode such nucleic acids and enzymes; and methods of making and using such nucleic acids, enzymes, expression cassettes, cells, and plants.

A photodetector includes a metal layer that shields incident light and generates surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs), a light absorbing layer that absorbs the generated SPPs and allows charges excited by the absorbed SPPs and a localized electric field effect to tunnel, a dielectric formed at nanoholes in which at least a part of the metal layer is opened, and a semiconductor layer that induces the photocurrent based on an electric field effect of tunneled electrons. The SPPs form localized surface plasmons (LSPs) at an interface where the metal layer meets the dielectric.

Provided herein is a composition for treating aluminum containing surfaces, wherein the composition includes a reaction product of at least one amine-functionalized organosilane and/or oligomer and/or polymer thereof and at least one fatty acid, wherein the molar ratio of the amino group/s of the at least one amine-functionalized organosilane and/or oligomer and/or polymer thereof and of the at least one fatty acid is 1.2:1 to 1:2, and wherein the at least one amine-functionalized organosilane and/or oligomer and/or polymer thereof is linked to the at least one fatty acid by at least one carboxylic acid/amine salt bond and/or at least one amide bond.

A universal fuel-supply assembly is adaptable during manufacturing to be made for use with one of multiple different fuel types (e.g., gasoline or diesel fuel). A method for assembling a fuel-supply assembly includes providing a plate structure configured to be secured to a fuel tank. The plate structure has multiple bosses. According to one example, the method determines whether the fuel-supply assembly is for use as a diesel fuel-supply assembly or as a gasoline fuel-supply assembly. A thin-film transistor (TFT) photodetector for a display panel is provided. The TFT photodetector includes an amorphous transparent substrate used as the display panel, a source formed of amorphous silicon or polycrystalline silicon on the transparent substrate, a drain formed of amorphous silicon or polycrystalline silicon, opposite to the source on the transparent substrate, an active layer formed between the source and the drain and having a current channel formed between the source and the drain, an insulating oxide film formed on the source, the drain, and the active layer, and a light receiving part formed on the insulating oxide film and configured to absorb light. When light is incident on the light receiving part, electrons migrate by tunneling through the insulating oxide film between the light receiving part and the active layer which have been excited with the insulating oxide film in between, the amount of charge in the light receiving part is changed by the migration of the electrons, a threshold voltage of the current channel is changed due to the change of the amount of charge, and photocurrent flows through the current channel due to the change of the threshold voltage.

The present invention relates to accessory systems for enhancing the security of restraint system used in a vehicle with a lap seatbelt system. A plurality of straps can placed on the upper surface of a vehicle seat and configured to provide a secure connection between the shoulders of the restraint system and an upper portion of the vehicle seat, the anchoring system securing the torso of the individual to the seat back. An optional plurality of straps are configured to provide a supplemental connection between the anchoring system and a rear portion of the seat, tethering the anchoring system to the vehicle to anchoring structures in the floor of the vehicle or the bottom portion of the seat. The straps can be adjusted to accommodate different heights in wearers, seats backs, and vehicle seats, making the restraint user adjustable for use by different wearers and in different vehicles.
