In a touch display device, a controller generates a touch sync signal for controlling timing of a touch sensing period and a display period in each of a plurality of frames. A touch panel has a plurality of touch electrodes in a display area to generate touch sensing signals indicating whether or not a touch occurs during the touch sensing period. A touch sensing circuit supplies a touch drive signal to the plurality of touch electrodes during the touch sensing period and detects if the touch occurred based on the touch sensing signals received from the plurality of touch electrodes. A touch assistance line surrounds the display area and is disposed in the non-display area of the touch panel. A touch assistance signal supply circuit generates a touch assistance signal on the touch assistance line. The touch assistance signal mimics the touch drive signal during the touch sensing period.

A liquid crystal display device is disclosed, which may compensate for a common voltage by reflecting all of noises by which a plurality of common electrodes are affected. The liquid crystal display device comprises a liquid crystal display panel including a plurality of data lines, a plurality of gate lines crossing the data lines, and a plurality of pixels provided at crossing regions of the data lines and the gate lines and including pixel electrodes and common electrodes to which a common voltage is supplied, wherein a common electrode of the common electrodes is shared by two or more of the plurality of pixels. Display device with driving electrode and receiving electrode for touch sensing and driving method thereof

Discussed is a display device. The display device includes a display panel including a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of data lines, a timing controller temporally dividing one frame period and driving the display panel such that a display mode for displaying an image in the display panel and a touch mode for sensing the user touch are alternately driven, a gate driver, and a data driver. Some of the gate lines and some of the data lines overlap each of a plurality of touch electrodes that are units for sensing a user touch. The gate driver simultaneously turns on a plurality of switching elements respectively connected to the gate lines overlapping each touch electrode in the touch mode. The data driver outputting display data having the same level to the respective data lines overlapping each touch electrode when the switching elements are turned on.

The display device includes a panel comprising driving electrodes and receiving electrodes, and a touch sensing unit comprising a driver supplying a common voltage to the driving electrodes and the receiving electrodes during an image display period, and sequentially supplying a driving voltage to the driving electrodes to determine whether the panel is touched, during a touch sensing period, and a receiver determining whether there is a touch on the panel based on comparison of a sensing signal induced through the receiving electrodes by the driving voltage with a reference voltage applied to the receiving electrodes. The reference voltage is different from an intermediate level of the driving voltage corresponding to an average of a maximum level and a minimum level of the driving voltage. A root mean square value of the reference voltage is substantially equal to a root mean square value of the driving voltage.

A display device with integrated touch screen is provided. The display device may include a panel and a touch IC. The panel may include a plurality of driving electrodes and sensing electrodes. The touch IC may compensate for a feedback common voltage outputted from the panel by generating a compensation common voltage based on the feedback common voltage and applying the compensation common voltage to the driving electrodes and the sensing electrodes when the panel operates in a display driving mode.
