The present invention discloses a Ziegler-Natta catalyst system for olefin polymerization, comprising at least one compound represented by formula (I) as (i) an internal electron donor, (ii) an external electron donor, or (iii) the both, wherein M, M, M, M, M, M, M', M&#x2032;, M&#x2032;, M&#x2032;, M&#x2032; and M&#x2032; are each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, hydroxy, amino, aldehyde group, carboxy, acyl, halogen atoms, &#x2014;Rand &#x2014;OR, wherein Rand Rare each independently a C-Chydrocarbyl, which is unsubstituted or substituted by a substituent selected from the group consisting of hydroxy, amino, aldehyde group, carboxy, acyl, halogen atoms, C-Calkoxy and heteroatoms; and wherein, when among M-Mand M&#x2032;-M&#x2032;, any two adjacent groups on the same phenyl ring are each independently selected from the group consisting of Rand &#x2014;OR, the two adjacent groups may optionally be linked to form a ring, with a proviso that M, M, M, M, M, M, M&#x2032;, M&#x2032;, M&#x2032;, M&#x2032;, M&#x2032; and M&#x2032; are not simultaneously hydrogen.

A catalyst component for ethylene polymerization, comprising an organic silicon compound of the formula (I), below wherein Ris chosen from C-Caliphatic hydrocarbyl groups, and is substituted with at least one substituent chosen from halogens, C-Cacyloxy groups, epoxy, amino, C-Calkylamino groups, di(C-Calkyl)amino groups, C-Calkoxy groups, and oxo group; R, Rand R, which may be the same or different, are each chosen from C-Caliphatic hydrocarbyl, C-Calicyclic hydrocarbyl, C-Caryl, C-Caralkyl, and C-Calkaryl groups. Catalyst component for ethylene polymerization, preparation thereof, and a catalyst comprising the catalyst component

The present invention provides a catalyst component for ethylene polymerization, a process for preparing the same, a catalyst comprising the same, and a process for polymerizing ethylene using the catalyst. The catalyst component comprises a reaction product, supported on an inorganic oxide support, of a magnesium complex, a titanium compound, an alcohol compound, and an organoaluminum compound, wherein said magnesium complex is formed by dissolving a magnesium halide in a solvent system comprising an organic epoxy compound and an organo phosphorus compound. The catalyst according to the invention is especially suitable for slurry phase polymerization of ethylene. The catalyst according to the present invention has high catalytic activity, and a good hydrogen response, with the resultant polymer having a more uniform particle size diameter and a narrow particle size distribution.
