A fingerprint authentication method and system and a terminal supporting a fingerprint authentication are provided. The fingerprint authentication method includes the following steps: a fingerprint receiving step: receiving fingerprint information input by a user; and a fingerprint template matching step: selecting a fingerprint template that has a highest using frequency from fingerprint templates on which matching has not been performed, and matching the fingerprint template with the fingerprint information. A fingerprint authentication succeeds when the fingerprint template matches with the fingerprint information, and the fingerprint template matching step is re-performed when the fingerprint template fails to match with the fingerprint information.

Disclosed are a fingerprint information dynamic updating method and a fingerprint recognition apparatus. The method includes the steps of: collecting fingerprint information, and performing fingerprint recognition according to the collected fingerprint information and a pre-registered fingerprint template database; after the fingerprint recognition succeeds, determining whether the fingerprint template database is saturate; if the fingerprint template database is not saturate and the collected fingerprint information satisfies a first updating condition, adding the collected fingerprint information to the fingerprint template database; and if the fingerprint template database is saturate and the collected fingerprint information satisfies a second updating condition, selecting target fingerprint information from the fingerprint template database, and replacing the target fingerprint information with the collected fingerprint information.

Fingerprint information dynamic updating method and fingerprint recognition apparatus

The present disclosure applies to the field of biometric identification technologies and provides a method and an apparatus for fingerprint identification. The method includes: extracting a minutia of the input fingerprint image by using a statistical method; performing fingerprint matching according to the extracted minutia to obtain a fingerprint identification result. According to the method provides in embodiments of the present disclosure, the direction of the minutia is calculated by using statistical information, a descriptor with statistical significance is added for the minutia, and during the matching process, calculation of the similarity of the minutia by using the descriptor and region matching by using information of the direction field and the gradient field of the overlapping region are added, therefore, instability and weak specificity of expression of fingerprint characteristics in a conventional algorithm are avoided, and accuracy of the fingerprint identification is improved.
