The present invention relates to a hot-working die steel, a heat treatment method thereof and a hot-working die. Specifically, the present invention discloses a hot-working die steel, its alloying composition comprises, by weight percentage, Cu: 2˜8%, Ni: 0.8˜6%, and Ni:Cu≥0.4, C: 0˜0.2%, Mo: 0˜3%, W: 0˜3%, Nb: 0˜0.2%, Mn: 0˜0.8%, Cr: 0˜1%, the balance of Fe and other alloying elements and impurities. The present invention also discloses a heat treatment method for performing on the hot-working die steel. The present invention further discloses a hot-working die formed of the hot-working die steel underwent through heat treatment according to the heat treatment method.

Coated steel sheet used for hot stamping has a thin aluminium alloy coating with coating thickness of 5˜14 μm. The aluminium alloy coating has a FeAlSi inhibitive layer adjacent to a substrate steel sheet and an Al alloy layer outside the FeAlSi inhibitive layer. The thickness of the FeAlSi inhibitive layer is no more than 60% of the coating thickness and is 1.5˜6.0 μm. Diameters of Kirkendall voids within 2 μm from an interface between the FeAlSi inhibitive layer and the substrate steel to the interior of the substrate steel are no more than 2.5 μm, and the number of Kirkendall voids with a diameter of no less than 0.5 μm and no more than 2.5 μm does not exceed 15 per 35 μm. The coating method eliminates skip coating and resulting hot stamped component has excellent resistance spot welding performance.

A plunger for die casting may include a front injector end made of an iron alloy including, by mass: about 1% to about 6% nickel, about 0.1% to about 5% copper, about 0.2% to about 2.5% aluminum, about 0.5% to about 2% manganese, and about 0.05% to about 0.2% carbon. The iron alloy may be formed into an initial shape of the front injector end, heated to a temperature greater than or equal to about 900&#xb0; C. and then cooled to form a supersaturated solid solution of iron and dissolved alloying elements. Then, the iron alloy may be heated at a temperature sufficient to precipitate intermetallic nanoparticles from the supersaturated solid solution to form an intermetallic precipitate phase dispersed throughout an iron-based matrix phase. A chemical compound layer may be formed at and along a surface of the iron alloy by exposing the iron alloy to an oxygen-containing and/or nitrogen-containing environment.

The present invention relates to a steel material for hot stamping with ultra-fine grains and a process of making the same, a hot stamping process and a hot stamped component. The steel material for hot stamping comprises the following components by weight: 0.27 to 0.40% of C; 0.2 to 3.0% of Mn; 0.11 to 0.4% of V; 0 to 0.8% of Si; 0 to 0.5% of Al; 0 to 2% of Cr; 0 to 0.15% of Ti; 0 to 0.15% of Nb; 0 to 0.004% B; a total of less than 2% of Mo, Ni, Cu and other alloying elements that are beneficial to improving the hardenability, and other impurity elements. After hot stamping or equivalent heat treatment, the steel material or the formed component of the present invention can achieve a yield strength of 1300 MPa to 1700 MPa, a tensile strength of 1800 to 2200 MPa, and an elongation of 6 to 9% after direct hot stamping quenching and without tempering, which properties cannot be achieved by a material with a composition in the prior art in the situation of direct quenching (no tempering). After the tempering treatment of the present invention, preferably 1500 MPa-1900 MPa-8%, and 1600 MPa-2100 MPa-7% can be reached.

A steel sheet used for hot stamping includes, by weight percent, 0.18&#x2dc;0.42% of C, 4&#x2dc;8.5% of Mn and 0.8&#x2dc;3.0% of Si+Al with the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities. The alloy elements of the steel sheet enable the actual measured value of the martensitic transformation start temperature after hot stamping to be &#x2264;280&#xb0; C. The method for manufacturing the component includes: heating the material to 700&#x2dc;850&#xb0; C. and then stamping; cooling it to the temperature that is 150&#x2dc;260&#xb0; C. below the martensitic transformation start temperature by cooling in a die, cooling by air, water, or other methods; heating the component to a temperature ranging from 160 to 450&#xb0; C. and maintaining the temperature for 1 to 100000 seconds for heat treatment, and then cooling the component to room temperature. The formed component has a yield strength of &#x2265;1200 MPa, a tensile strength of &#x2265;1600 MPa and a total elongation of &#x2265;10%.
