A technique for imaging a retina with a retinal camera includes illuminating the retina with a plurality of distinct illumination bands that are substantially exclusive of green visible light while substantially not illuminating the retina with the green visible light. A first retinal image is acquired while illuminating the retina with the distinct illumination bands and substantially not illuminating the retina with the green visible light.

Introduced here are retinal cameras having optical stops whose size can be adjusted to enable self-alignment by naturally guiding an eye toward a specified location. Generally, a retinal camera will constrict the bounds of an optical stop until the optical stop is aligned with the eye. In some embodiments, the optical stop is mechanically resized as a subject shifts their eye. In some embodiments, the optical stop is digitally created using a pixelated liquid crystal display (LCD) layer having multiple pixels that are individually controllably. In some embodiments, multiple non-pixelated LCD layers are connected to one another to form a variable transmission stack. In such embodiments, the size of the optical stop can be varied by changing which LCD layer(s) are active at a given point in time.

An ophthalmic camera system includes an eyepiece lens disposed in or on a housing. A flexible eyecup has a proximal opening end attached to the housing and surrounding the eyepiece lens and a distal opening end shaped to press against a face around an eye. An image sensor is adapted to acquire a retinal image of the eye through the eyepiece lens when the flexible eyecup is pressed against the face. A field source generates a field. A field sensing system senses the field. One of the field source or the field sensing system is disposed in or on the flexible eyecup and the other one is rigidly mounted to the housing. A controller is coupled to the field sensing system for tracking a relative position of the eyepiece lens relative to the field source to aid aligning the eyepiece lens to the eye.

Alignment detection of ophthalmic camera system

A technique for retinal images includes configuring a dynamic illuminator to illuminate the retina with an illumination pattern. An image frame of the retina is captured while illuminated with the illumination pattern. The configuring and the capturing are iterated to sequentially reconfigure the dynamic illuminator to illuminate the retina with a plurality of different illumination patterns and to capture a plurality of image frames each illuminated with one of the different illumination patterns. The image frames are combined into a composite retinal image.

Dynamic illumination during retinal burst imaging

An apparatus for imaging an interior of an eye includes a light sensitive sensor, and a housing structure with an opening defining an imaging area to place the eye for imaging by the light sensitive sensor. One or more light emitters (LEs) are disposed in an image path between the light sensitive sensor and the eye during capture of a plurality of images. A controller is coupled to the plurality of LEs and the light sensitive sensor. The controller implements logic that when executed by the controller causes the apparatus to perform operations including: illuminating the imaging area with the one or more LEs; and capturing, with the light sensitive sensor, the plurality of images of the interior of the eye at the same time as the eye is illuminated with the light from the one or more LEs.

The various implementations described herein include methods, devices, and systems for calibrating LED(s). In one aspect, an electronic device includes: a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs); one or more processors; and memory storing a plurality of color correction matrices, each color correction matrix of the plurality of color correction matrices corresponding to an LED of the plurality of LEDs and generated based on a desired color value for the corresponding LED, wherein the electronic device is configured to relay status of the electronic device via the plurality of LEDs operating in conjunction with the plurality of color correction matrices.

Devices having calibrated LEDs

The various implementations described herein include methods, devices, and systems for calibrating LED(s). In one aspect, an electronic device includes: (1) a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs); (2) one or more processors; and (3) memory storing a plurality of color correction matrices, each color correction matrix of the plurality of color correction matrices: (a) corresponding to an LED of the plurality of LEDs, (b) generated based on a desired color value for the corresponding LED, and (c) scaled to prevent overrange of color values for the corresponding LED; and the memory includes instructions for operating the plurality of LEDs in accordance with the stored plurality of color correction matrices.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, relating to testing three-dimensional imaging systems. In some implementations, a system includes a mount for a three-dimensional camera, a mount for a calibration target, and a rail to which the mount for the calibration target is coupled. The movement of the mount for the calibration target is constrained to the direction extending along the rail. The system includes a processing device having logic that receives a reading from a particular three-dimensional camera coupled to the mount for the three-dimensional camera. The reading includes a distance from the three-dimensional camera to a particular calibration target coupled to the mount for the calibration target. The logic receives a measurement of an actual distance from the particular three-dimensional camera to the particular calibration target. The logic then provides measurement characteristics of the particular three-dimensional camera.

An example technique of configuring a universal remote control device includes receiving a plurality of transmitted infrared signals during a time period; storing the plurality of infrared signals and a time of each of the plurality of infrared signals; detecting a plurality of appliance events during the time period; storing the plurality of appliance events and a time of each of the plurality of appliance events; correlating the plurality of infrared signals with the plurality of appliance events based on the time of each of the plurality of infrared signals and the time of each of the plurality of appliance events; and defining configuration information for a universal remote control device based on the correlating of the plurality of infrared signals with the plurality of appliance events.

Systems, methods and media for remote control of electronic devices using a proximity sensor are provided. In some implementations, the system comprises: a proximity sensor comprising an infrared emitter and an infrared detector, wherein the proximity sensor is configured to emit infrared light having specific properties using the infrared emitter and sense reflected light having the specific properties using the infrared detector to determine proximity of the sensor to an object; and a hardware processor that is programmed to: receive a user instruction to cause a command to be issued to control an electronic device; determine a code to be transmitted that corresponds to the command from a plurality of codes associated with the electronic device; and provide at least one signal to the proximity sensor to cause the proximity sensor to emit an infrared signal corresponding to the code instead of emitting infrared light having the specific properties.

The various implementations described herein include methods, devices, and systems for calibrating LED(s). In one aspect, a method includes: (1) obtaining a desired color value for each LED of a plurality of LEDs to be calibrated; (2) obtaining image information from an image sensor, the image information corresponding to operation of the plurality of LEDs; and (3) generating calibration information for each LED of the plurality of LEDs based on the desired color value for the LED and the obtained image information.

Systems, devices, and methods for calibrating LEDs

A system and method are provided for detecting motion and calculating distance to a moving object by a sensor device. The sensor device includes: a transducer device configured to transmit a first signal and receive a second signal, wherein the second signal comprises a reflection from a moving object; a motion processing unit configured to receive and process data corresponding to the second signal, and, based on the processing corresponding to the second signal, the transducer device is configured to transmit a third signal and receive a reflected fourth signal; and the distance processing unit is configured to process the data corresponding to the fourth signal to determine a distance between the sensor device and the moving object, wherein the distance processing unit is turned off when the motion processing unit is processing data and vice versa.
