A fiber optic cable distribution box has an interface compartment for interfacing a first set of fibers when routed inside the compartment, with a second set of fibers associated with a fiber optic cable that is routed to the box. A drum region is disposed beneath the interface compartment. The drum region includes a cylindrical wall for supporting a fiber optic cable wound about the wall. The drum region is formed so that the box can turn about the axis of the cylindrical wall when a cable is paid out from the drum region. The interface compartment and the drum region are constructed so that the first set of fibers inside the interface compartment, originate from an inside end portion of the cable wound on the drum region.

A method and apparatus of a novel modeling scheme for performing optical lithography simulation for a multi-tone mask with a plurality of mask tones is described. The method generates a transmission function matrix based on a setting of the multi-tone mask. The method applies the transmission function matrix to transform a formula for calculating light intensity from Abbe's form to Hopkins' form while maintaining the accuracy of Abbe's form. The method then computes the light intensity using the transformed formula.

A method of making battery plates for lead-acid batteries includes providing a strip of material comprising lead; and punching material out of the strip to form a grid comprising wires having a non-rectangular cross-sectional shape by utilizing a die set comprising a plurality of male die components and female die components, wherein each of the male die components comprises a first portion having a first cross-sectional shape and a second portion having a second-cross sectional shape. A single punch of the material creates a hole in the material and also forms the periphery of the hole.

Single punch method of making battery plates for lead-acid batteries

A method and apparatus of a novel full chip edge-based mask three-dimensional (3D) model for performing photolithography simulation with consideration for edge coupling effect is described. The method receives a mask design layout in order to perform mask topography effect modeling. The method generates scaling parameters for edge coupling effects. Each scaling parameter has an associated combination of feature width and space. The sum of feature width and space associated with at least one scaling parameter is less than a minimum pitch. The method applies a thick mask model that includes several edge-based kernels to the mask design layout to create a mask 3D residual. To apply the thick mask model to the mask design layout, the method updates the edge-based kernels with the scaling parameters.

A method and apparatus of a novel full chip edge-based mask three-dimensional (3D) model for performing photolithography simulation is described. The method applies a thin mask model to a mask design layout to create a thin mask transmission. The method generates a thick mask model that has a plurality of edge-based kernels. The method applies the thick mask model to the mask design layout to create a mask 3D residual. The method combines the thin mask transmission and the mask 3D residual to create a mask 3D transmission.

Edge-based full chip mask topography modeling

A method for correcting topography proximity effects (TPE) for an integrated circuit (IC) design is described. This method includes dividing the IC design into a plurality of levels (z-direction). Each level can be decomposed into one or more elementary geometries. These elementary geometries can be top view geometries, cross-sectional geometries, half-plane geometries, geometries with single slope sides, and/or geometries with multiple slope sides. The one or more elementary geometries can be compared to primitives in a library. A transfer matrix can be generated using the matching primitives and the elementary geometries. A disturbance matrix can be calculated based on the transfer matrix. This disturbance matrix can advantageously capture a spectrum of a reflective electric field from a spectrum of an incident electric field. Wave propagation through a photoresist layer can be performed using the disturbance matrix for the plurality of levels. A light intensity for TPE correction can be computed based on the wave propagation.

Compact and accurate wafer topography proximity effect modeling for full chip simulation

A strain relief for distributing strain along an outer surface of an optical fiber cable is disclosed. The strain relief is shaped to surround and tangentially grip the cable via friction between the outer surface of the cable and an inner surface of the strain relief. The strain relief also includes a pulling eye to protect the cable (and a connector) from pulling force (i.e. strain), water and dust. The strain relief is relatively small, low cost and easy to use.

Embodiments of the invention include a connector system. The connector system includes a connector cover. The connector-cover has a cap to protect a connector from dust and water and an adapter attached to an optical fiber cable, which is configured to connect to the cap. The dimensions and configuration of the connector-cover allow it to be pulled through conventional conduit (i.e. a 90&#xb0;-bent, 0.75 inch Schedule 40 conduit).

A spooling tool for paying out a fiber optic cable prewound on a spool region of a drop box or on an associated spool, when installing a cable at a user's premises. In one embodiment, the tool includes a base plate and a stud projecting from one side of the plate. An elongate arbor has one end secured to the stud in such a manner as to support the arbor perpendicular to the base plate. The arbor is dimensioned to pass through an axial passage in the box so that the box pivots on the arbor when the cable is unwound by an installer. A cap mechanism at the opposite end of the arbor retains the drop box on the arbor, and applies enough drag on the box to inhibit it from free wheeling on the arbor.

A network provider cable is routed to a splitter box in a multi-dwelling unit or commercial building where the cable fibers are terminated. One or more riser cables, each terminated at one end at the splitter box, are routed through a building shaft. Each riser cable contains fibers associated with units located on a certain set of one or more floors of the building. The other end of each riser cable is terminated at an aggregation box associated with the floors of the set. A feeder cable is routed between the aggregation box and each floor of the set, or a corresponding floor area of one floor. A drop box is provided for each floor or floor area for terminating the corresponding feeder cable. Drop cables are routed between the drop box and units on the floor or in the floor area to be served.
