A first interface is configured to provide information, including display brightness information, to the display device through a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI). Brightness circuitry is configured to process brightness information from one or more sensors detecting ambient light level. A module is configured to generate control information to control the brightness of the display device and to provide the control information to the display device.

An apparatus, method and computer-readable medium provide control of set top box volume based on mobile device events. The apparatus may execute a process that includes controlling a volume setting of an audio amplifier to output audio content to the one or more audio or audio/visual devices. A connection event signal from a mobile device is received via a wireless radio frequency receiver. The connection event signal indicates a call state of the mobile device. In response to receiving the connection event signal, a received signal strength indication associated with the connection event signal obtained. A volume setting that corresponds to the obtained received signal strength indication is determined. The volume setting output to the audio amplifier is adjusted according to the determined volume setting.

Method and apparatus for controlling set top box volume based on mobile device events

A channel estimation method and apparatus are provided. The channel estimation method includes: extracting pilot data in a received signal; performing pilot channel estimation by using the extracted pilot data to obtain transmission coefficients of multiple groups of pilot channels; and obtaining a transmission coefficient of a data channel through non-linear interpolation processing by using the obtained transmission coefficients of the multiple groups of pilot channels. Solutions provided in the embodiments of the present invention help improve the channel estimation precision in a fast time-changing channel environment, thereby improving the system performance.
