The touch panel comprises two conductive substrates arranged in parallel and secured to each other with a gap existing between the conductive substrates The process for implementing a conductive tracing layout in a touch panel includes steps of forming a first conductive layer on at least one of the conductive substrates; forming a first photo-resist layer on the first conductive layer; removing a specified portion of the first photo-resist layer to form a first specified mask on a specified portion of the first conductive layer; and removing the first conductive layer except the specified portion of the first conductive layer to form a first conductive tracing layout.

Process for implementing conductive tracing layout in touch panel

A structure of an illumination apparatus is described. The structure has a light guide rod arranged at one lateral side of a light guide plate, and plural light sources located below the light guide rod. The light guide rod has at least one tilt plane formed thereon in order to guide the light emitted from the light sources to the light guide plate such that uniform planar light could be generated therefrom. A plurality of notches is formed in the tilt plane, and a plurality of depressed or protruding dispersion dots is formed on an out-going plane of the light guide rod. The structure further includes an anti-reflection layer positioned between the light guide rod and the light guide plate.

Structure of illumination apparatus

A touch screen mounting assembly for a liquid crystal display panel (LCD) and a method for fabricating a touch screen mounting assembly for use on a LCD panel are disclosed. The mounting assembly includes a bottom frame that has a plurality of attachment means mounted thereon, a backlight panel that has a plurality of pressure-sensitive transducers mounted thereon, a liquid crystal display panel, and a top frame for exerting pressure when mounted to the bottom frame such that a plurality of compressible springs biases the LCD panel towards the bottom frame when touched or contacted by a user. The pressure-sensitive transducers may be suitably piezoelectric transducers that produce a flow of electricity upon sensing a pressure.

Touch screen mounting assembly for LCD panel and method for fabrication

A method for forming a compact LCD package and devices formed by such method are disclosed. In the method, an LCD display panel is formed by bonding an upper glass panel and a lower glass panel together and exposing an edge portion formed by a larger lower glass panel. Conductive traces formed of a conductive film layer such as ITO is provided on the edge portion of the LCD display panel for providing electrical connection to the drive lines and scan lines for the LCD panel. A two-step bonding method is used to first bond a printed circuit board in a pre-bonding step to the exposed edge portion of the LCD panel by using an anisotropic conductive film layer. The bonding is conducted under pressure and heat such that electrical communication is established through the conductive metal particles contained in the anisotropic conductive film. In a second, or post-bonding step, an IC chip or a driver chip is bonded to the top of the PCB by a multiplicity of solder bumps formed on the driver chip connecting electrically to a second multiplicity of conductive pads formed on top of the PCB substrate. The present invention novel method therefore produces a more compact LCD package which saves a planar area in an edge portion by at least 50%. In the first pre-bonding method that utilizes an anisotropic conductive film, fabrication equipment for an outer lead bonding method can be utilized. In the post-bonding step, fabrication equipment for an inner lead bonding method can be used.

Method for forming compact LCD packages and devices formed in which first bonding PCB to LCD panel and second bonding driver chip to PCB

A repairable TFT-LCD assembly and a method for fabricating such assembly have been disclosed. In the repairable TFT-LCD assembly, a novel separation tape is utilized between the TFT and the LCD substrate such that when the tape is pulled in a perpendicular direction to the planar surface of the LCD substrate, the TFT can be separated from the assembly without causing damages to the LCD substrate. The separation tape is fabricated of a polymeric based insulating material with a multiplicity of apertures filled with a conductive metal. The back of the separation tape is laminated with a copper film which is patterned corresponding to the pattern of conductive pads provided on the LCD substrate. The present invention is further directed to a method for fabricating the separation tape for use in a repairable TFT-LCD assembly.

Repairable TFT-LCD assembly and method for making in which a separation tape positioned between two anisotropic conductive films

An adjustable LCD panel power-up test fixture and a method for using the fixture are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, an adjustable test fixture is constructed by mounting removable side frames onto a substantially planar base plate with conductive elements provided on the top surfaces of the side frames. The side frames are arranged and mounted in such a way that one side frame slidingly engages another for fixing a pre-selected length of the side frame necessary for testing the LCD panel. In an alternate embodiment, the base plate is not used where four side frames slidingly engaging each other to form an adjustable test frame. The four side frames are each provided with a horizontal portion and a vertical portion. The vertical portions of the four side frames are of substantially the same height, while the horizontal portions are provided with a recessed slot for engaging the horizontal portions of the other side frames. Once a suitable size is adjusted, the four side frames may be locked together by using a mechanical locking means prior to the testing of the LCD panel. The adjustable test fixture may further be provided with an upper plate for each horizontal portion of the side frames equipped with flexible tubular sections on a bottom surface of the upper plate such that a suitable pressure may be applied between the conductive leads on the LCD panel and the conductive elements on the PCB provided on the top surfaces of the side frames. The present invention novel apparatus of an adjustable test fixture for LCD panel power-up test allows the testing of any size LCD panels in the same test fixture by suitably adjusting the length of each side frame in the fixture.
