A tunable filter device that changes a central frequency and a bandwidth is provided. The tunable filter device may include a body forming a cavity together with a cover, a resonator attached to or integrally formed on a lower surface of the cavity, a frequency-tuning element including a head and a shaft, the shaft passed through the cover and inserted in the resonator, and a cam disposed on the head to contact the head, wherein an insertion length of the shaft is controlled by the cam.

Variable high frequency filter device and assembly

The present invention relates to a dual reflector antenna with a hybrid subreflector, and more particularly, to a dual reflector antenna with a subreflector having a structure in which an ellipse and a hyperbola are combined. An exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides a dual reflector antenna including: a main reflector; and a hybrid subreflector which faces the main reflector and has a first structure and a second structure which are combined therein.

A method of manufacturing a piezoelectric speaker comprises forming a piezoelectric thin film and then forming an upper electrode and a lower electrode on and beneath the piezoelectric thin film, respectively, forming a damping material layer for attachment of the piezoelectric thin film below the piezoelectric thin film with the upper and lower electrodes formed thereon and therebeneath, attaching the piezoelectric thin film to an acoustic diaphragm in an inclined structure in which the piezoelectric thin film is horizontally turned from the acoustic diaphragm, and performing drying at room temperature; and fixing the acoustic diaphragm to a frame using an adhesive material with high elasticity.

Method of manufacturing a piezoelectric speaker

Provided is an antenna apparatus which employs a small number of antenna devices and is intended to obtain a desired pattern without adjusting amplitude level and phase of each antenna device. The antenna apparatus includes a first ridge horn antenna, and a second ridge horn antenna spaced apart from the first ridge horn antenna by a determined distance. Here, a multi-beam pattern is generated using a third-order mode beam pattern of a synthetic beam obtained by synthesizing beams respectively radiated from the first and second ridge horn antennas. Accordingly, the antenna apparatus can be simplified, and a desired multi-beam pattern can be obtained without adjusting signal level and phase of each antenna device. Also, by employing the ridge horn antennas as array devices, the antenna apparatus can be used in a wide frequency band.

A security system and a method of determining whether there is an intrusion are provided. A correlation between sound signals obtained from a sound source generating device and a sound-field variation measuring device is used to measure a acoustic field in a certain space. A difference between an initially set acoustic field and a changed acoustic field is used to determine whether there is an intruding object in a certain space. The security system includes a sound source generating device for generating a sound source; and a sound-field variation measuring device for measuring a acoustic field formed by the sound source, wherein an initially set acoustic field is compared with the measured acoustic field to determine whether there is an intrusion.

In a piezoelectric speaker, an acoustic diaphragm is thicker than a piezoelectric thin film and is formed of a more flexible and higher elasticity material than the piezoelectric thin film, thereby greatly improving output sound pressure in a low frequency band and reducing sound distortion. Further, the piezoelectric thin film is attached to the acoustic diaphragm in an inclined structure in which the piezoelectric thin film is horizontally turned from the acoustic diaphragm, thereby preventing a standing wave from being created by structural symmetry and minimizing sound distortion.

A method of fabricating an electronic device using nanowires, minimizing the number of E-beam processing steps and thus improving a yield, includes the steps of: forming electrodes on a substrate; depositing a plurality of nanowires on the substrate including the electrodes; capturing an image of the substrate including the nanowires and the electrodes; drawing virtual connection lines for connecting the nanowires with the electrodes on the image using an electrode pattern simulated through a computer program, after capturing the image; coating an E-beam photoresist on the substrate; removing the photoresist from regions corresponding to the virtual connection lines and the electrode pattern using E-beam lithography; depositing a metal layer on the substrate after removing the photoresist from the regions of the virtual connection lines; and removing remaining photoresist from the substrate using a lift-off process.

Method of fabricating electronic device using nanowires

Provided is a method of fabricating a nano-wire array, including the steps of: depositing a nano-wire solution, which contains nano-wires, on a substrate; forming a first etch region in a stripe shape on the substrate and then patterning the nano-wires; forming drain and source electrode lines parallel to each other with the patterned nano-wires interposed therebetween; forming a plurality of drain electrodes which have one end connected to the drain electrode line and contact at least one of the nano-wires, and forming a plurality of source electrodes, which have one end connected to the source electrode line and contact the nano-wires that contact the drain electrodes; forming a second etch region between pairs of the drain and source electrodes so as to prevent electrical contacts between the pairs of the drain and source electrodes; forming an insulating layer on the substrate; and forming a gate electrode between the drain and source electrodes contacting the nano-wires on the insulating layer. Accordingly, even in an unparallel structure of nano-wires to electrode lines, a large scale nano-wire array is practicable and applicable to an integrated circuit or display unit with nano-wire alignment difficulty, as well as to device applications using flexible substrates.

Method of fabricating nano-wire array

Provided is an optical microscope system for detecting nanowires to allow for use of an existing optical microscope in fabricating an electronic device having the nanowires and including: a light source for emitting light to provide the light to a nanowire sample; a rotational polarizer provided on a path of the light emitted from the light source for polarizing the light; an optical microscope for detecting a nanowire image using light that is polarized by the rotational polarizer and incident on the nanowire sample; a CCD camera provided in a region of the optical microscope for photographing and storing the nanowire image detected by the optical microscope; and a data processor for performing Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) on the nanowire image stored in the CCD camera. Intensity of reflected light varies, due to optical anisotropy of the nanowires, along a polarizing orientation of light incident on the nanowires.

Provided are a hetero-junction bipolar transistor (HBT) that can increase data processing speed and a method of manufacturing the hetero-junction bipolar transistor. The HBT includes a semi-insulating compound substrate, a sub-collector layer formed on the semi-insulating compound substrate, a pair of collector electrodes disposed at a predetermined distance apart from each other on a predetermined portion of the sub-collector layer, a collector layer and a base layer disposed between the collector electrodes, a pair of base electrodes disposed at a predetermined distance apart from each other on a predetermined portion of the base layer, an emitter layer stack disposed between the base electrodes, and an emitter electrode that is formed on the emitter layer stack, and includes a portion having a line width wider than the line width of the emitter layer stack, wherein both sidewalls of the emitter electrode are respectively aligned with inner walls of the pair of base electrodes, and sidewalls of the collector layer and the base layer are located between outer sidewalls of the pair of base electrodes of the pair of base electrodes.

Hetero junction bipolar transistor and method of manufacturing the same

Provided is a dielectric waveguide filter. The filter includes: a multi-layered structure of dielectric substrates having first and second ground planes at its top and bottom; first, second, and third waveguide resonators disposed at multiple layers within the multi-layered structure; converters for signal transition between input/output ports and the first and third waveguide resonators; first vias for forming the first, second, and third waveguide resonators; and second vias disposed at a boundary surface of the first waveguide resonator and the third waveguide resonator.

Dielectric waveguide filter with cross-coupling

Provided is a broadband microstrip-waveguide transition apparatus operating in a millimeter waveband. The millimeter-wave band broadband microstrip-waveguide transition apparatus includes a slot for transferring an electromagnetic signal propagating along a microstrip line, a main patch positioned between the slot and a waveguide and resonating from the signal transferred from the slot, and a parasitic patch positioned between the main patch and the waveguide and resonating together with the main patch. According to the millimeter-wave band broadband microstrip-waveguide transition apparatus, it is possible to transfer a signal from the microstrip line to the waveguide, and to increase a resonance bandwidth to a broadband level.

Millimeter-wave band broadband microstrip-waveguide transition apparatus having a main patch and a parasitic patch on different dielectric substrates

A narrowband microstrip type bandpass filter adapted for a home network, telematics, an intelligent traffic system, and a satellite Internet, includes: an input terminal for receiving a predetermined signal; an output terminal for outputting a selection signal in a characteristic band; a first resonator electrically coupled with at least a portion of the input terminal; a second resonator electrically coupled with at least a portion of the first resonator; and a third resonator electrically coupled with at least a portion of the output terminal and the second resonator. A magnetic coupling is provided using a cross coupling gap or a cross coupling line between non-adjacent resonators, so that a pattern can be simplified by optimizing the design and the manufacturing process to provide low-cost millimeter-wave parts. The manufacturing cost can be reduced by miniaturizing the parts, and the mass production can be readily realized.

Microstrip type bandpass filter

Provided is an air cavity module for a planar type filter operating in millimeter-wave frequency bands. The air cavity module includes: the planar type filter operating in the millimeter frequency bands; an air cavity having open side and top surfaces to mount the planar type filter therein; and an air cavity cover closing up the open top surface of the air cavity to allow the transmission of signals from and into the planar type filter. The air cavity module can lessen both transmission loss and radiation loss to improve the characteristics of the filter that operates in the millimeter-wave frequency bands.
