There is disclosed an organic-free, metal-containing zeolite Beta with a silica-to-alumina ratio (SAR) ranging from 5 and 20, and a metal content of at least 0.5 wt. %. There is also disclosed a method of making such a zeolite Beta without organic structure directing agent (SDA). The metal, which may comprise Fe or Cu, can be found in amounts ranging from 1-10 wt. %. A method of selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gases using the disclosed zeolite is also disclosed.

Metal-containing zeolite beta for NOreduction and methods of making the same

A metal-containing chabazite zeolite, which has an FTIR peak area ratio between the peak at 900-1300 cm(Si&#x2014;O&#x2014;Si asymmetric stretch) and the peak at 765-845 cm(&#x2dc;805 cmis Si&#x2014;O&#x2014;Si symmetric stretch) of at least 55. A method for preparing metal-containing CHA zeolites with high SCR activity at low reaction temperatures from alkali cation-free reaction mixtures that contain the three OSDA structures: metal-polyamine, N,N,N-trimethyl-1-adamantyl ammonium (TMAda+) and TMAOH. The metal-containing CHA zeolites produced by the disclosed method can be identified by XRD, FTIR spectroscopy, FT-VIS spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. A method of selective catalytic reduction of NOx in exhaust gas using the material described herein is also disclosed.

Direct synthesis of metal-containing CHA zeolites

A catalyst composition comprising (a) carrier comprising (i) 5 to 95 wt % mordenite type zeolite having a mean crystallite length parallel to the direction of the 12-ring channels of 60 nm or less and a mesopore volume of at least 0.10 cc/gram, (ii) 5 to 95 wt % ZSM-5 type zeolite; and (iii) 10 to 60 wt % inorganic binder; and (b) 0.001 to 10 wt % of one or more catalytically active metals, wherein the inorganic binder comprises titania, its preparation and its use in alkylaromatic conversion.

Catalyst composition

Process for dealkylation of alkylaromatic compounds which process comprises contacting an alkylaromatic feedstock with i) a first catalyst comprising a) a carrier comprising of from 20 to 70 wt. % of refractory oxide binder and of from 30 to 80 wt. % of dealuminated ZSM-5 having a crystallite size of from 500 to 10,000 nm and a silica to alumina molar ratio (SAR) of from 20 to 100; b) of from 0.001 to 5 wt. % metal chosen from the group consisting of Groups 6, 9 and 10; and optionally c) up to 0.5 wt. % of a Group 14 metal, and ii) a subsequent catalyst comprising a) a carrier comprising of from 20 to 70 wt. % of refractory oxide binder and of from 30 to 80 wt. % of ZSM-5 having a crystallite size of from 3 to 100 nm and a SAR of from 20 to 200; b) of from 0.001 to 5 wt. % of metal chosen from the group consisting of Groups 6, 9 and 10; and optionally c) up to 0.5 wt. % of a Group 14 metal.

Alkylaromatic conversion catalyst

A microporous crystalline material having a molar silica to alumina ratio (SAR) ranging from 10 to 15 and a fraction of Al in the zeolite framework of 0.63 or greater is disclosed. A method of selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas that comprises contacting exhaust gases, typically in the presence of ammonia, urea, an ammonia generating compound, or a hydrocarbon compound, with an article comprising the disclosed microporous crystalline is also disclosed. Further, a method of making the disclosed microporous crystalline material is disclosed.

An as-synthesized microporous material having a CHA structure and containing at least one organic structure directing agent that has the following general structure of the quaternary ammonium cation is disclosed: A microporous crystalline material made from the as-synthesized material is also disclosed. A method of making microporous crystalline material using one or more organic structure directing agents is also disclosed. A method of selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas that comprises contacting exhaust gases, typically in the presence of ammonia, urea, an ammonia generating compound, or a hydrocarbon compound, with an article comprising the disclosed microporous crystalline is also disclosed.

Chabazite zeolite synthesis with organic templates

A process of preparing a catalyst composition which process comprises the steps of (a) treating ZSM-5 zeolite with an alkaline solution having a pH of at least (8) followed by ion exchange to obtain a treated zeolite, (b) extruding a mixture of the treated zeolite and binder and contacting the zeolite with a fluorocompound containing solution, (c) increasing the temperature of the extrudates obtained in step (b) to at least 200&#xb0; C., and (d) combining the extrudates obtained in step (c) with one or more metals selected from the group consisting of Group (10) and (11) of the IUPAC Periodic Table of Elements and a process for the conversion of an aromatic hydrocarbons containing feedstock using a catalyst composition prepared by such process.

Preparation of a ZSM-5-based catalyst; use in ethylbenzene dealkylation process

Paraffin isomerization catalyst comprising of from 0.01 to 5 wt. % of a Group VIII noble metal on a carrier containing alumina and zeolite beta having a silica to alumina molar ratio (SAR) of from 5 to 15 and process employing such catalyst for isomerization of a hydrocarbon feed containing paraffins having of from 4 to 8 carbon atoms.

Isomerization catalyst

A new configuration of ZSM-5 is provided whereby the crystals have a higher average silica to alumina ratio at the edges of each crystallite than in the centre as determined from a narrow slit line scan profile obtained from SEM/EDX or TEM/EDX elemental analysis. Such ZSM-5 crystals are obtained by a preparation process using L-tartaric acid. The new configuration ZSM-5 provides significantly reduced xylene losses in ethylbenzene dealkylation, especially when combined with silica as binder, and one or more hydrogenation metals selected from platinum, tin, lead, silver, copper, and nickel.

There is disclosed a microporous crystalline material comprising a metal containing chabazite having a crystal size greater than 0.5 microns and a silica-to-alumina ratio (SAR) greater than 15, wherein the metal containing chabazite retains at least 80% of its initial surface area and micropore volume after exposure to temperatures of up to 900&#xb0; C. in the presence of up to 10 volume percent water vapor for up to 1 hour. Methods of using the disclosed crystalline material, such as in the SCR of NOin exhaust gas are also disclosed, as are methods of making such materials.

High silica chabazite for selective catalytic reduction, methods of making and using same

There is disclosed a microporous crystalline material comprising a crystal structure having building units of double-6-rings (d6r) and pore opening of 8-rings, wherein the material comprises a first metal chosen from alkali-earth group, rare-earth group, alkali group or mixtures thereof, and a second metal chosen from copper, iron or mixtures thereof, wherein the material has molar silica to alumina ratio (SAR) from 3 to 12, and is further steamed to enhance stability. Methods of making the crystalline material are also disclosed. There is also disclosed a method of selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas, comprising at least partially contacting the exhaust gases with an article comprising the disclosed microporous crystalline material.

There is disclosed a microporous crystalline material having pore opening ranging from 3 to 5 Angstroms, where the material comprises a first metal chosen from alkali earth group, rare earth group, alkali group, or mixtures thereof, and a second metal chosen from iron, copper or mixtures thereof; and has a molar silica to alumina ratio (SAR) from 3 to 10. The microporous crystalline material disclosed herein may comprise a crystal structure having building units of double-6-rings (d6r) and pore opening of 8-rings as exemplified with framework types defined by the Structure Commission of the International Zeolite Association having structural codes of CHA, LEV, AEI, AFT, AFX, EAB, ERI, KFI, SAT, TSC, and SAV. There is also disclosed a method of selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas, comprising at least partially contacting the exhaust gases with an article comprising the disclosed microporous crystalline material.

There is disclosed a highly crystalline, small crystal, ferrierite zeolite prepared from a gel containing a source of silica, alumina, alkali metal and a combination of two templating agents. The resulting material includes ferrierite crystals having a particle size of about or less than about 200 nm. The desired crystal size can be achieved by using a specific composition of the gel. The purity of the material and the crystal size was determined by using X-ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The material has excellent surface area and micropore volume as determined by nitrogen adsorption.
