An optical system allows sharing of optical components and seed and pump light to achieve desired optical amplification in laser light while reducing the number of optical components and complexity of the overall optical system and achieving improved performance in lasers and reduced cost in fabrication and final lasers for large scale production of such lasers. Different optical gain sections can be used to allow for sharing of seed and pump light and sharing of optical components while providing multi-stage optical amplification.

The present patent application relates to a polarization interference optical interleaver, which includes a first port to transmit the first optical signal through the first optical path, a second port to transmit the second optical signal and a third port to transmit the third optical signal. The first optical signal passes through the first optical path and splits into the second optical signal and the third optical signal by the first and the second light splitting/combining crystals and the interference crystal group. The interference crystal group is located between the first and the second light splitting/combining crystals. The second optical signal and the third optical signal are received and reflected by a reflecting mirror. Then the second optical signal and the third optical signal output through the second port and the third port respectively. The second optical signal reflected by the reflecting mirror transmits along the first optical path of the first optical signal and passes through the interference crystal group, then walks off the first optical path by light walk-off device and outputs through the second port. The third optical signal reflected by the reflecting mirror transmits along the second optical path and passes through the interference crystal group, then outputs through the third port. There are only four beams in the interference crystal group of the present patent application. So the volume of the interference crystal group is minimized and the cost is reduced.

Polarization interference optical interleaver

The free-space optical hybrid includes a polarizing beam splitter that split the light beams S and L into horizontal polarization light beams Sx, Lx and orthogonal polarization light beams Sy, Ly, respectively, at least one birefringent crystal splits the horizontal polarization light beams Sx, Lx and orthogonal polarization light beams Sy, Ly into light beams Sxo, Sxe, Lxo, Lxe, Syo, Sye, Lyo, Lye, a light combiner that combine the light beams Sxo+Lxo, Sxo&#x2212;Lxo, Sxe+jLxe, Sxe&#x2212;jLxe, Syo+Lyo, Syo&#x2212;Lyo, Sye+jLye, Sye&#x2212;jLye and output the light beams at ports. The present invention can realize an optical hybrid in free-space by using a birefringent crystal and can split light beams of different polarization statuses in free-space well. The optical hybrid offers a compact structure and good stability.

Free-space optical hybrid

The present patent application provides an interference cavity for precisely controlling an optical path including a cavity formed by two equal distance arms, wherein a positive adjusting plate and a negative adjusting plate are disposed in the interference cavity for compensating the change of a cavity length with temperature and thereby ensuring that the interference cavity length is a constant. The present patent application utilizes the matching relationship between the change of the refractive index of the positive adjustment plate with the temperature and the change of the refractive index of the negative adjusting plates with the temperature to make the optical path difference OPL invariant with changes in the environment temperature and thereby to ensure the precision of the optical path.

Interference cavity for controlling optical path

A tunable filter is provided. The tunable filter comprises an input optical fiber for launching an optical signal into the tunable filter; a collimator disposed for collimating light transmitted from the input optical fiber; a grating disposed for dispersing the collimated light according to wavelength in a dispersion plane; a first reflector disposed for reflecting at least a portion of the dispersed light to a second reflector; a second reflector disposed for reflecting the dispersed light back to the grating; a third reflector disposed for reflecting the transmitted dispersed light from the grating back to the grating, wherein then the second reflector reflects the transmitted dispersed light to the first reflector, the first reflector reflects the transmitted dispersed light back to the grating, the collimator receives the transmitted dispersed light from the grating and substantially focusing it to a focal point; and an output optical fiber disposed at the focal point for receiving the focused light; wherein one of the reflectors is rotated to selectively reflect the dispersed light having a predetermined wavelength.

A system for authenticating a terminal subscriber identity module in an IM domain includes: UE, an S-CSCF, a home device of the UE and an HSS. The invention enables a USIM subscriber to use IM services without changing the USIM card.

Method and system for authenticating terminal subscriber identity module in IP multimedia domain

A variable optical attenuator with photoelectric detector, comprising a collimator, a variable optical attenuator chip, wherein the variable optical attenuator further comprises a photoelectric detector; and the photoelectric detector receives and detects partial light from the variable optical attenuator chip. The variable optical attenuator of the invention is capable of detecting attenuation change of itself via the variable optical attenuator chip. Thus, real-time monitoring and feedback are implemented, and the attenuation performance of the variable optical attenuator is improved.
