A display device includes a pixel array. The pixel array includes multiple pixel elements. At least one pixel element includes an OLED, a first transistor, a second transistor, a third transistor, a first capacitor and a second capacitor. The first transistor has a first terminal coupled to an anode of the OLED for driving the OLED. The second transistor is coupled between a second terminal of the first transistor and a reset voltage and has a control terminal receiving a reset signal. The third transistor is coupled between the anode of the OLED and a control terminal of the first transistor and has a control terminal receiving a compensation signal. The first capacitor is coupled between the control terminal of the first transistor and the anode of the OLED. The second capacitor is coupled to the first capacitor and the control terminal of the first transistor.

Displays with pixel circuits capable of compensating for transistor threshold voltage drift

A display device includes pixel units. Each pixel unit includes a driving transistor, a switch transistor, a reset transistor, a light-emitting element, and a control unit. The driving transistor has a control terminal, a first terminal coupled to a first operation voltage source and a second terminal. The reset transistor is coupled to the control terminal of the driving transistor. The light-emitting element is coupled to the switch transistor in series between the second terminal of the driving transistor and a second operation voltage source. The control unit stores a threshold voltage of the driving transistor and a driving voltage of the light-emitting element according to a voltage level of the second terminal of the driving transistor. The control unit changes a voltage level of the control terminal of the driving transistor according to the stored threshold voltage, the stored driving voltage, and a corresponding data signal.

Display devices for providing driving currents irrelevant to threshold voltages of driving transistors and driving voltages of light-emitting diodes

The present disclosure provides a display device including a light emitting diode and a driving module. The driving module drives the light emitting diode. The driving module includes a first switch circuit, a second switch circuit, and a driver transistor. The first switch circuit selectively writes a gray scale voltage in a first capacitor. The second switch circuit selectively writes an offset voltage in a second capacitor. The driver transistor is coupled to the light emitting diode, the first capacitor, and the second capacitor. The driver transistor adjusts a driving current being outputted to the light emitting diode according to the gray scale voltage and the offset voltage. The gray scale voltage adjusts the voltage difference between the gate and the source of the driver transistor, while the offset voltage adjusts a threshold voltage of the driver transistor.

A pixel driving circuit is provided, including first, second, third, fourth, and fifth switching devices and first and second capacitors. The first switching device has a first terminal coupled to a first power source voltage, and a control terminal coupled to a first scan signal line. A display driving method comprises the steps of: determining a first target-level voltage and a second target-level voltage of a signal of the scan line; determining a first switch time and a second switch time according to an RC loading of the scan line; determining at least one first precharge-level voltage and at least one second precharge-level voltage according to the first target-level voltage, the second target-level voltage, the first switch time, and the second switch time; and outputting the first precharge-level voltage, the first target-level voltage, the second precharge-level voltage, and the second target-level voltage to drive the display panel, wherein the first precharge-level voltage is switched to the first target-level voltage after the first switch time, and the second precharge-level voltage is switched to the second target-level voltage after the second switch time.

A display device comprises a pixel structure. The pixel structure includes a first transistor having a gate and circuitry to initially set the first transistor gate at a first voltage. In response to a data signal received over a data line of the display device, the first transistor gate is set at a second voltage. The first transistor gate voltage transitions from the second voltage to a third voltage that is higher than the second voltage by a reference voltage. A light element is coupled to the first transistor and configured to emit light in response to a current through the light element.

Pixel structure having a transistor gate voltage set by a reference voltage

One embodiment of the invention includes an image compensation module, an OLED display panel, and an OLED display apparatus. A target current value corresponding to a target gray level is stored in a compensation memory portion. A reference gray level and a reference current value corresponding to the reference gray level are stored in a reference memory portion. A compensation gray level can be obtained by an arithmetic compensation unit according to the target current value, reference gray level, reference current value, and gamma parameter. This may reduce the memory space needed for the compensation and reference memory portions, and compensate the images of the display apparatus and panel so that precise colors can be displayed with a high image quality.

Image compensation methods, systems, and apparatuses for organic light emitting diode display panel

A lighting emitting display, a pixel circuit and a driving method thereof. The pixel circuit includes a driving transistor, a capacitor and a LED. The capacitor receives a first supply voltage and is coupled to a gate of the driving transistor. A cathode of the LED receives a second supply voltage. During a pre-charge period, the gate and the drain of the driving transistor are coupled to an anode of the LED, the source of the driving transistor is coupled to a charging voltage. The source of the driving transistor receives a data signal and the drain and gate of the driving transistor are coupled to each other during a programming period. The source of the driving transistor is coupled to receive the first supply voltage and the drain of the driving transistor is coupled to the anode of the LED during a display period.

Lighting emitting display, pixel circuit and driving method thereof

A flat panel display, a display driving apparatus thereof and a shift register thereof are disclosed. The shift register is adapted for driving a flat panel display. The shift register receives an input signal and a clock signal. The shift register includes a delay unit and a buffer unit. The delay unit is used to delay the input signal for a half period of the clock signal and then output the delayed input signal. The buffer unit receives the delayed input signal, and provides an extra driving power accordingly. The buffer unit is operated by a fixed first voltage and a fixed second voltage.

An OLED display and pixel circuit thereof are provided. The pixel circuit includes first and second switches, first and second PMOS transistors, a capacitor and an OLED. The first switch, controlled by a first scan signal, has a first end receiving a data signal and a second end. The first PMOS transistor has a source coupled to a high voltage, a drain coupled to the fourth end and a gate coupled to the second end. A display having voltage-driven organic light-emitting pixel circuits. Each pixel circuit includes an organic light-emitting diode, a data writing circuit, a capacitor, three transistors, and a switch. The pixel circuit can compensate the threshold voltage variations of low temperature poly silicon thin film transistors. This increases the stability of the voltage-driven organic light-emitting pixel circuits, improves the uniformity of the luminance of the display, and provides a larger aperture ratio for the pixels.

A shift register circuit has a plurality of shift registers connected in series, each shift register having a phase-shifting element and a pull-high element, wherein the phase-shifting element receives a first input signal, a first clock signal and a second clock signal, and the first clock signal and the second clock signal are complementary in phase. The pull-high element is used for pulling up an output signal to a high logic level, and includes a logic unit, wherein no current path is established in the pull-high element when the shift register is operated in any type of periods.

The logic unit includes an output node having a logic state, the logic unit being coupled to a first voltage reference. The voltage level adjuster provides a control signal that causes the driving unit to reduce a current flowing through the driving unit when the output node of the first logic unit has a first logic state, and causes the driving unit to drive an output node of the logic circuit to a voltage level substantially equal to that of the second voltage reference when the output node of the first logic unit has a second logic state.

Logic circuits

A shift register includes a control unit, a signal switching unit and a buffer unit. The control unit determines whether to transfer an input signal from a first input terminal to a first output terminal according to a first control signal, and determines whether to conduct a first pre-defined voltage to a second output terminal according to a second control signal. The signal switching unit uses the signal output from the first output terminal as one of the considerations for determining whether to conduct a second pre-defined voltage to a third output terminal, and uses the second control signal as one of the considerations for determining whether to conduct the second pre-defined voltage to the first output terminal. The buffer unit outputs signal according to the signals from the first/third output terminals. Further, at least once, the second control signal is enabled after the first control signal has been enabled.
