An apparatus and a method for diagnosing battery replacement for vehicles may accurately diagnose whether a battery has been replaced using an internal resistance of the battery. The apparatus includes a measurer for measuring the internal resistance of the battery, a storage for storing the measured internal resistance, and a controller for diagnosing whether the battery has been replaced based on the internal resistance. The controller, when vehicle power is reset, controls the measurer to measure a first or second internal resistance after starting a vehicle, updates and stores the measured first or second internal resistance in the storage, compares a current first internal resistance value with a former first internal resistance value or a current second internal resistance value with a former second internal resistance value, and diagnoses that the battery has been replaced when the corresponding values differ from each other.

Apparatus and method for diagnosing battery replacement for vehicles

A system for managing a battery of a vehicle includes a first controller configured to control a power-on (IG ON) state and a power-off (IG OFF) state of a plurality of controllers in the vehicle and to be periodically woken up in the power-off (IG OFF) state to wake up at least some of the plurality of controllers, and a second controller configured to turn off a main relay connecting a first battery in the vehicle and a vehicle system when the power-off (IG OFF) state begins, to monitor a state of the first battery storing energy for generating power of the vehicle by maintaining power during a preset first reference time, to be woken up at a wake-up period of the first controller when the first reference time elapses, and to monitor the state of the first battery.

System and method for managing battery of vehicle

A vehicle and a method use an Idle Stop and Go (ISG) system. The vehicle includes: a battery; a battery sensor configured to measure a lowest voltage of the battery at a time of startup of the vehicle; a driving unit including an engine of the vehicle; and a controller. The controller is configured to: compare a first lowest voltage predicted using a current lowest voltage of the battery with a reference value to determine whether the lowest voltage of the battery has been changed; in response to determining the lowest voltage of the battery has been changed, calculate a difference between the current lowest voltage of the battery and an immediately previous lowest voltage of the battery; calculate an accumulated current between a current of the battery at the immediately previous time point and a current of the battery at the current time point; calculate a correction voltage for the accumulated current; predict a second lowest voltage using at least one of the difference between the current lowest voltage of the battery and the immediately previous lowest voltage of the battery or the correction voltage; compare the second lowest voltage with a second determination value; and control the driving unit to control entry into a stop of the ISG system according to a result of the comparison.

Vehicle and method of controlling the same

A battery management method can be used for a vehicle. The method includes determining whether battery refresh proceeds and determining whether battery aging proceeds based on a time period in which the battery refresh proceeds, a battery state of charge, and a battery current during the battery refresh. Battery discharge is controlled based on determining that the battery aging proceeds. Charging is controlled according to a battery refresh map in order to restore the battery.
