Systems and methods of user code synchronization with Z-wave door locks are provided. Methods can include determining an occurrence of a predetermined event, upon the occurrence of the predetermined event, identifying a set of a plurality of user codes stored in a control panel to be synchronized, and wirelessly transmitting the set of the plurality of user codes to be synchronized from the control panel to at least one door lock using a Z-wave communications protocol.

A system and method for reporting alert events to a terminal device of a user of the security system. In one aspect, a security device of the system generates data of an image or a video clip indicative of an alert event in a detection zone of the security system and further generates a message including an indicium associated with the data. A security control panel of the system receives the message including an indicium associated with the data, identifies an address associated with the terminal device, and sends an instruction message including the indicium and the address to the security device. Upon receiving the instruction message, the security device generates an alert message including the data based on the indicium, and sends the alert message to the address of the user device.

A method for decoding a DTMF tone which includes collecting the width of serial signals by measuring the time interval between zero-crossing points within a predetermined time; counting within the predetermined time the number of signal zero-crossing points; performing interpolation on the data produced by the collecting and counting steps with a Fourier transform; identifying a first frequency that has the strongest magnitude from the resulting data; and calculating the lower frequency of the tone being decoded by subtracting the first frequency from the average frequency of the digitized signal.
