Provided is a refrigerator configured to improve the structure of an ice-making chamber provided to a refrigerator door, thereby efficiently supplying cool air into the ice-making chamber. The refrigerator includes a main body including a storage chamber, a refrigerator door rotatably coupled to the main body, an ice-making device provided to the refrigerator door and configured to make ice, an ice-making unit provided to the ice-making device and including a cool air introduction part, a freezing core vertically arranged in the ice-making unit and cooled by cool air, and an ice tray configured to receive at least one portion of the freezing core therein, wherein the cool air introduction part is provided on an upper side of the freezing core. Cool air is efficiently introduced into the ice-making chamber, thereby increasing the amount of ice made.

Refrigerator having an ice maker with vertical freezing cores

An ice maker and a refrigerator having the same include an ice making container which is maintained at a temperature higher than a freezing point of water. Ace core rods having the temperature lower than the freezing point are inserted into the ice making container to cause water in the container to freeze. Accordingly, water at the periphery of the ice making container remains liquid which the water surrounding the ice core rods freezes. As a result, air bubbles generated when the ice is made can be discharged from the liquid portions of the water at the outer edges of the container. This results in ice without trapped air bubbles, which allows excellent transparent ice pieces to be formed. In some embodiments, the exterior surfaces of the ice making container are maintained at a temperature lower than the freezing point of water, and thawing rods maintained at the temperature higher than the freezing point of water are inserted into the center portions of the ice making container. In this embodiment, water at the edges of the ice making container are frozen first, while the water surrounding the thawing rods remains liquid. This also allows air bubbles to escape during formation of the ice, which results in transparent ice pieces.

An oil feeding propeller of a scroll compressor for preventing deterioration of oil feeding generated when a rotation shaft is rotated in reverse is disclosed. The propeller is tightly fitted into the lower side of the oil passage of the rotation shaft, sucks oil into the shell due to rotation shaft of shaft to raise oil to a compression part of the scroll compressor. The propeller includes a plate without operative direction for feeding oil in a predetermined direction so as to raise a predetermined quantity of oil regardless of the rotation direction shaft.

An eccentric coupling device in a radial compliance scroll compressor including a bush rotatably fitted in a boss of an orbiting scroll, and provided with a crank pin hole extending vertically throughout the bush, a crank pin eccentrically arranged at an upper end of a crankshaft adapted to orbit the orbiting scroll, and fitted in the crank pin hole while allowing a radial movement of the bush in the crank pin hole, the crank pin having an oil passage, and a cover member fitted in the crank pin hole at an upper end portion of the crank pin hole, and adapted to guide oil, fed through the oil passage, to be supplied between the slide bush and the boss. The crank pin is fitted in the crank pin hole such that an upper end thereof is arranged at a level lower than an upper end of the slide bush. The crank pin is eccentrically arranged with respect to the crankshaft. The oil passage communicates with an oil passage extending through the crankshaft.

A vane supporting apparatus for a hermetic compressor elastically supports vanes contacting to both cam faces of a dividing plate with thin torsion coil springs, and forms curved surface portions on upper ends of the vanes where the torsion coil springs are contacted, and thereby, height of the supporting apparatus supporting the respective vanes is reduced to miniaturize the compressor, and also, to prevent contacted portions between the vanes and the torsion coil springs from being worn away.
