Some embodiments include an apparatus, method, and computer program product for simultaneous multiple secondary cell (SCell) fast activation in a wireless communications system. Some embodiments include a user equipment (UE) that can simultaneously activate multiple SCells. In some embodiments, after receiving an activation command, the UE can receive two or more temporary reference signals (T-RSs) which are user equipment (UE) specific reference signals. The UE can use the T-RSs for fine time/frequency (T/F) tracking and Automatic Gain Control (AGC) adjustment of corresponding SCells resulting in reduced SCell activation latency compared to utilizing a Synchronization Signal (SS)/Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH) Block Measurement Timing Configuration (SMTC).

Simultaneous multiple secondary cell (SCell) fast activation

An apparatus is configured to be employed within a base station. The apparatus comprises baseband circuitry which includes a radio frequency (RF) interface and one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to select one or more recovery channels based on one or more recovery factors; determine a beam recovery frame structure using the selected one or more recovery channels and based at least partially on beam correspondence capabilities; and provide the selected one or more recovery channels and the determined beam recovery frame structure to the RF interface for transmission to a user equipment (UE) device.

Peer devices may wirelessly communicate with each other over a bidirectional sidelink logical channel (LCH) through an established bidirectional sidelink radio bearer. An initiating device of the peer devices may dynamically select a logical channel ID for establishing a fully bidirectional or semi-bidirectional SLRB. At least two alternative sidelink radio resource control (PC5-RRC) procedures may ensure the SLRB parameters are configured correctly in the established logical channel. The procedures also allow the network to configure a limited SLRB which is used to couple the SLRB configuration in the direction in which limited traffic (e.g. feedback information such as robust header compression feedback and/or status reports) is transmitted.

Bidirectional sidelink radio link control bearers

Aspects are described for a user equipment (UE) comprising a transceiver configured to enable wireless communication with a base station and a second UE, and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor is configured to determine a set of subcarriers from two physical resource blocks (PRBs). The set of subcarriers includes only one subcarrier or more than two subcarriers. The processor is further configured to transmit, using the first set of antenna ports of the transceiver, channel state information reference signals (CSI-RSs) in a set of resource elements (REs) to the second UE. The set of REs occupies the set of subcarriers.

Systems and methods provide for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring adaptation. A user equipment (UE) may monitor a default search space set group (SSSG) for downlink control information (DCI) from a base station in the PDCCH. In response to a first DCI trigger, the UE switches from monitoring the default SSSG to monitoring a first non-default SSSG associated with a first timer. In response to a second DCI trigger, the UE switches from monitoring the first non-default SSSG to monitoring a second non-default SSSG associated with a second timer. The first non-default SSSG may be a non-empty SSSG including a search space set with at least one associated search space. The second non-default SSSG may be an empty SSSG with no associated search space to emulate PDCCH skipping.

Methods and apparatus for signaling and state transition for PDCCH skipping and SSSG switching

A reduced capability (redcap) user equipment (UE) is configured to receive a positioning reference signal (PRS) configuration from a network component and perform one or more positioning operations based at least in part on the PRS configuration. A base station is configured to receive, from a location management function (LMF) of a network, a positioning reference signal (PRS) configuration for a reduced capability user equipment (redcap UE) and transmit PRS to the redcap UE based on the PRS configuration.

A wireless network may include a base station and user equipment (UE). The UE may transmit uplink (UL) signals to the base station using a dynamically adjustable maximum UL duty cycle. When the UE identifies that a user is in proximity to the UE, the UE may transmit an indicator to the base station. The indicator may identify that a radio-frequency exposure (RFE) event has occurred and/or a suggested maximum UL duty cycle that would allow the UE to satisfy limits on RFE. The base station may limit a UL grant to the UE so that the UE performs subsequent communications using the suggested maximum UL duty cycle or a different maximum UL duty cycle. Coordinating adjustment of UL duty cycle in this way may allow the UE to meet limits on RFE without requiring the UE to perform maximum transmit power level reductions.

Systems and methods for controlling uplink duty cycle

A base station may establish a cellular link with a user equipment (UE) according to a single frequency network scheme. The base station may then determine one or more control resource set (CORESET) transmission configuration indication (TCI) states and transmit signaling to configure the UE with the one or more CORESET TCI states. Additionally or alternatively, the one or more CORESET TCI states may be useable by the UE in performing communications with at least one of a first transmission reception point (TRP) and a second TRP associated with the cellular link with the cellular network.

Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing techniques for a use equipment (UE) to determine, based on a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state, a sensing beam to wirelessly communicate with a base station over a channel in an unlicensed spectrum. The UE can receive, using a receiving beam, control information including a TCI state, determine a sensing beam indicated by the TCI state included in the control information, sense a channel occupancy of the channel between the UE and the base station by performing Clear Channel Assessment using the sensing beam. Furthermore, the UE can determine, based on the channel occupancy, whether the channel is free to be utilized for communication by the UE using the sensing beam.

Sensing beam determination in unlicensed spectrum

Beam failure recovery (BFR) in a multiple Downlink Control Information (mDCI) mode may include receiving, by a user equipment (UE), a Downlink Reference Signal (DL RS) set from a next generation Node B (gNB). The DL RS set may be associated with a link between the UE and the gNB and indicate beam failure detection (BFD) is to be performed for the link. The BFR may further include performing, by the UE, a beam failure detection (BFD) for the link using the DL RS set, and performing, by the UE, a candidate beam detection (CBD) for the link, the CBD determining a candidate beam for the link by determining a beam having a reference signal receiving power (RSRP) that is larger than an RSRP threshold. The BFR may further include transmitting, by the UE, a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) indicating the link to the gNB.

The method comprises acquiring a downlink control information (DCI) configured for multiple-physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) scheduling; determining, based on the number of PDSCHs scheduled by the DCI, whether a codebook group (CBG)-based operation is enabled for the scheduled PDSCHs; and determining, based on the number of PDSCHs scheduled by the DCI, a format of the DCI.

Codebook group-based operation with multiple-physical downlink shared channel scheduling

A cellular base station (BS) which determines an aperiodic sounding reference signal (SRS) triggering offset configuration specifying an offset between an aperiodic SRS trigger received by a user equipment (UE) and transmission of the SRS by the UE. The cellular base station may determine that the SRS triggering offset should be adjusted. In response, the cellular base station may transmit signaling to the UE specifying a new value for the aperiodic SRS triggering offset. The new SRS triggering offset value may be partly based on a minimum timing offset for the UE and may be contained in a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) or in downlink control information (DCI). Additionally, the new triggering offset value may be applicable for a plurality of component carriers or bandwidth parts. The cellular base station may also determine a new triggering offset value due to conflicts regarding the AP-SRS transmission.
