Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for Fifth Generation New Radio (5G NR) frequency range two (FR2) based communications beam management. The UE may configure, via communications with a base station, serving the UE, a group ID for PUCCH resources within a group of PUCCHs, e.g., for FR2 based communications. The UE may receive, from the base station, an update to one or more PUCCH resources within the group of PUCCHs via a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) that may include one of a resource ID indicating an update to a PUCCH resource or the group ID to update the group of PUCCH resources. The UE may update, based on the MAC-CE, the one or more PUCCH resources within the group of PUCCHs.

5G NR FR2 beam management enhancements

The disclosure relates to Discontinuous Reception (DRX) based UE behavior. A user equipment (UE) is configured to perform operations comprising: obtaining a first DRX cycle; determining a second DRX cycle at least based on the first DRX cycle and a DRX cycle threshold, wherein the DRX cycle threshold is a highest value of DRX cycle that can support LEO (Low-Earth Orbit) cell measurement; and applying the second DRX cycle, comprising applying the second DRX cycle to measurement of at least one LEO cell of the serving cell and a neighbor cell, wherein at least one of the serving cell and the neighbor cell is a LEO cell.

DRX based UE behavior

A user equipment (UE) configured to receive configuration information for a first search space (SS) set of a first slot group for multi-slot physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring (MSM), receive configuration information for a second SS set of a second slot group for MSM, perform MSM based on the first SS set and switch from the first SS set to the second SS set using one of a first type of search space set group (SSSG) switching or a second type of SSSG switching.

In an example method, a user equipment (UE) device receives a plurality of Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) beams transmitted by base stations (BSes) during discovery burst transmission windows (DBTWs). For each of the SSB beams, the UE device determines an index value of the SSB beam (l) within a respective one of the DBTWs, and determines a value Z=lmod N, where Nrepresents a maximum allowable number of SSB beams transmitted by each of the BSes during a single DBTW. The UE device determines whether two or more of the SSB beams are quasi co-located based on the values Z for the SSB beams, and processes wireless signals received from the BSes based on the determination.

Transmission configuration indicator determination and acknowledgment

A user equipment (UE) is provided to select an uplink transmission beam to communicate with a base station in a secondary cell of a carrier aggregation (CA) scheme. The UE can communicate with a first base station in a primary cell (PCell), and receive a command from the wireless network to activate a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission to a second base station in a secondary cell (SCell). The second base station can be in a being-activated state. The UE can determine whether an uplink spatial relation configuration is provided to the UE, and determine whether the UE supports beam correspondence. Based on the determinations, the UE can select an uplink transmission beam for the PUCCH transmission to the second base station.

Uplink transmission beam selection in a secondary cell

A cell performs beam management operations for a user equipment (UE). The cell transmits a first group of multiple reference signals via a first transmission reception point (TRP) to a user equipment (UE), transmits a second group of multiple reference signals via a second different TRP to the UE, receives an indication that the UE has selected a first beam associated with one of the multiple reference signals of the first group and a second beam associated with one of the multiple reference signals of the second group and transmits downlink data to the UE using the first beam and the second beam.

Beam management in multi-TRP operation

Configuring channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) reporting at a network may include encoding a single CSI-RS reporting configuration for transmission to a user equipment (UE) that is in connected mode with both a first transmission and reception point (TRP) and a second TRP. The single CSI-RS reporting configuration may include a plurality of CSI-RS resource sets. Each of the plurality of CSI-RS resource sets may include a plurality of CSI-RS resources. At least one of the plurality of CSI-RS resource sets may include CSI-RS resources that correspond to the first TRP or the second TRP. A CSI measurement communication received from the UE may be decoded. The CSI measurement communication may be based on the single CSI-RS reporting configuration communication. Based on the CSI measurement communication, one or more downlink data transmissions may be scheduled.

CMR and IMR configuration enhancement for multi-TRP CSI-RS reporting

A method for operating user equipment (UE) includes generating, by the UE, a transmit precoding matrix indicator (TPMI) list including one or more TPMIs selected from a set of available TPMIs stored at a base station (BS). Data indicative of the TPMI list is transmitted to the BS. An index of the TPMI list is transmitted to the BS. Downlink control information (DCI) is received from the BS including an indication of at least one TPMI from the TPMI list based on the index. Uplink data is transmitted to the BS on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) using the at least one TPMI.

Full power uplink transmission enhancement

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for communications between user equipment. One of the methods includes receiving, by a first device and from a second device, sidelink control information indicating a resource reservation for a single-slot resource for the second device to use to communicate with the first device; determining, by the first device and based at least in part on the sidelink control information, whether a potential resource collision exists when the first device is scheduled to communicate with another device using the single-slot resource or when the single-slot resource is reserved by another device; and in response to determining that the potential resource collision exists, sending, by the first device and within a predetermined number of slots from a reference slot, a collision message to cause the second device to determine another single-slot resource to use to communicate with the first device.

Inter-device communication

Aspects are described for a user equipment (UE) comprising a transceiver and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The UE is in a multi-TRP mode. The processor is configured to receive a configuration message, a BFD configuration, and a BFR configuration. The UE switches to a single-TRP mode upon receiving the configuration message. The processor is further configured to update a first BFD procedure based on the BFD configuration and update a first BFR procedure based on the BFR configuration. Finally, the processor is configured to perform the updated first BFD procedure and the updated first BFR procedure for the first TRP responsive to a result of the updated first BFD procedure.

Method for a transmission/reception point (TRP) specific beam failure recovery (BFR) for a single downlink control information (DCI) mode

This disclosure relates to techniques for performing channel state information reporting for multi-transmission-reception-point operation in a wireless communication system. Channel state information configuration information may be provided to a wireless device. The channel state information configuration information may indicate channel measurement resources associated with each of multiple transmission reception points. The wireless device may perform channel state information reporting based on the channel state information configuration information.

Codebook design

Uplink transmissions of a mobile device (UE) may be improved in a number of ways. Uplink Transmission Time Interval (TTI) bundling, including both Type-A and Type B PUSCH repetitions, may be implemented with variable TTI bundle sizing. The TTI bundle size may be determined by a base station and communicated to the UE explicitly, or may be determined by the UE implicitly, based on an indicated repetition number and frequency hopping number. The UE may also report frequency hopping (FH) assist information to the base station for use by the base station to more efficiently configure FH for the uplink transmissions. Finally, the UE may use (or maintain) the same transmission power, for each TTI transmit occasion of the same TTI bundle in order to improve (cross-slot) channel estimation accuracy. Power allocation may be prioritized to ensure that at the same time a total power for the uplink transmissions of the UE does not exceed a specified threshold.
