Disclosed is a methanol and sulfuric acid co-production system capable of producing methanol and sulfuric acid in equal equivalents. Specifically, the system includes an oxidation reaction unit configured to produce methyl bisulfate (CHOSOH) by reacting methane gas with an acid solution in the presence of a catalyst, a reactive distillation unit disposed downstream of the oxidation reaction unit and configured to esterify methyl bisulfate (CHOSOH) supplied from the oxidation reaction unit with trifluoroacetic acid (CFCOOH) to obtain a product and to separate the product into methyl trifluoroacetate (CFCOOCH) and sulfuric acid (HSO) through thermal distillation, and a hydrolysis reaction unit disposed downstream of the reactive distillation unit and configured to produce methanol by hydrolyzing methyl trifluoroacetate (CFCOOCH) supplied from the reactive distillation unit, in which the reactive distillation unit recirculates the sulfuric acid resulting from separation to the oxidation reaction unit.

Disclosed is a zinc-imidazole complex mixed catalyst. Also disclosed are a method for preparing the zinc-imidazole complex mixed catalyst and a method for producing a methyl N-phenyl carbamate in high yield with high selectivity in the presence of the catalyst. The zinc-imidazole complex mixed catalyst can be reused due to its high reaction stability. In addition, the use of the zinc-imidazole complex mixed catalyst leads to a marked improvement in the production yield of a methyl N-phenyl carbamate with high selectivity.

Disclosed is a method for adsorbing a dye for a dye-sensitized solar cell. The method includes: coating a paste including metal oxide nanoparticles on the upper surface of a titanium oxide thin film and calcining the coated paste to form a porous film; adding an additive to a sensitizing dye solution to promote the adsorption of the dye; and dipping the porous film in the sensitizing dye solution to adsorb the sensitizing dye onto the surface of the porous film. The sensitizing dye solution is a dispersion of the sensitizing dye in an organic solvent. Also disclosed are a working electrode prepared using the sensitizing dye solution and a dye-sensitized solar cell including the working electrode. The addition of the additive shortens the time of dye adsorption. Despite the shortened adsorption time, the dye does not undergo desorption in the long term as well as in the short term, ensuring long-term stability of the solar cell.

The present disclosure relates to a method for separating sugars and acids with reduced energy consumption, including a step of diffusively dialyzing a first acid hydrolysate obtained by saccharifying biomass with an acid solution, thereby preparing a second acid hydrolysate wherein the concentration of the acid solution contained in the acid hydrolysate is decreased; and a step of electrolyzing the second acid hydrolysate, thereby separating sugars from the acid solution, which is advantageous in that less energy is consumed, the separated acid solution can be recycled directly without further treatment due to high concentration and loss of sugars can be minimized.

The apparatus includes: a pretreatment tank where biomass and a first acid solution are stirred to extract sugar components from the biomass; a hydrolysis tank where water is added to the pretreated mixture transferred from the pretreatment tank such that the concentration of the acid is reduced and the sugar components are hydrolyzed to produce an acid hydrolyzate; a first sugar-acid separation tank where the acid hydrolyzate is separated into a second acid solution and a first hydrolyzate; a second sugar-acid separation tank where the first hydrolyzate is separated into a third acid solution and a second hydrolyzate; a fermentation tank where the second hydrolyzate is fermented to produce bioenergy; and an acid solution concentration tank where a mixture of the second acid solution transferred from the first sugar-acid separation tank and the third acid solution transferred from the second sugar-acid separation tank is concentrated to a higher level for reuse.

Provided is a palladium on carbon (Pd/C) catalyst obtained by using an ionic liquid, a method for preparing the same, and a method for hydrogenation of hydrofluorocarbon using the same. More particularly, palladium particles are supported on carbon particles by using an ionic liquid, and the resultant Pd/C catalyst is used for hydrogenation of hydrofluorocarbon. The catalyst includes palladium particles having a smaller particle size and a more uniform shape as compared to the existing Pd/C catalysts, and thus shows high catalytic activity.

Provided is a zinc air fuel cell with enhanced cell performance which includes a separator-electrode assembly including a perforated metal plate as a cathode current collector, a catalyst-coated carbon paper, a separator, a perforated metal plate as an anode current collector, and a tilted nonconductive support. A metal plate may be placed on the tilted nonconductive support and connected to the anode current collector in the separator-electrode assembly to enlarge the active area of the anode current collector.
