A magnetism characteristic detection method, a magnetism characteristic detection apparatus, an imaging apparatus and an imaging method are provided, where magnetism detection and imaging are based on an integrated excitation field of a direct current (DC) magnetic field and an oscillation wave. The magnetism detection method includes the following steps. A DC magnetic field is selectively applied to an object. Further, an oscillation wave is provided to the object, where the oscillation wave is a sound wave or an ultrasound wave. Then, a magnetism characteristic variation of the object is detected.

Detection method, imaging method and related apparatus based on magnetism characteristic detection technique

The invention provides a low-field nuclear magnetic resonance system for measuring a magnetic resonance signal of an object. The low-field nuclear magnetic resonance system includes a pre-magnetization module, a uniform magnetic field coil module, a pulse and receiving coil module, a filter amplifier module, a signal acquisition module and a processing module. The pre-magnetization module is used to establish a pre-magnetization field in the object to increase magnetization of the object. The uniform magnetic field coil module is used to change a resonance frequency and background magnetic field intensity of the object during nuclear magnetic resonance measurement by regulating a magnetic field of the coil. The processing module further includes a programming object for controlling timing processing and signal analysis of the measurement process.

Low magnetic field resonance system

The invention provides a high resolution proton nuclear magnetic reonance and imaging (NMR/MRI) in microtesla magnetic fields by using high critical temperature (high-T) superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometer via a flux transformer. Both the SQUID and the input coupling coil are installed inside a superconducting vessel which shields environmental noise and set the SQUID in a stable operation condition. The present invention also offers the advantages of preserving the NMR signal even if the sample is far away from the SQUID detector.

Disclosed is an apparatus for measuring ac magnetization at mixture frequency. The apparatus includes an ac generating unit for generating at least a first current with a frequency fand a second current with a frequency f. The apparatus further includes a co-axial solenoid unit, driven by the first and second ac currents, to generate a first magnetic field and a second magnetic field. A method for suppressing non-specific bindings between molecules includes providing magnetic particles dispersed in a liquid, wherein each of the magnetic particles has a magnetization. The magnetic particles are coated with coating molecules. Binding molecules mixed of first-type binding molecules and second-type binding molecules are applied to the liquid, wherein the coating molecules are specifically binding with the first-type binding molecules and non-specifically binding with the second-type binding molecules. An alternating current (ac) magnetic field is applied at an axis with a frequency level, wherein the frequency level causes suppression of the second-type binding molecules in binding with the coating molecules.

Method and system for suppressing bindings on magnetic particles

An ultra-sensitive, wash-free method for quantitatively determining the concentration of biomolecules in a sample solution is provided. The sensitivity of the method is 1 ppt or below. The method includes providing a reagent containing magnetic nanoparticles and measuring the ac magnetic susceptibility of the reagent. Then, a sample solution containing either multiple-active epitope biomolecules or single-active-epitope biomolecules is mixed with the reagent. The ac magnetic susceptibility of the reagent after the association with the biomolecules is measured. Thereafter, the difference in the ac magnetic susceptibility of the reagent before and after the association with the biomolecules is measured and the concentration of biomolecules in the sample solution is determined.

A method of examining cardiac electromagnetic activity over a heart for diagnosing the cardiac functions of the heart is disclosed. The method may include constructing a phase diagram of electromagnetic signals over a heart by collecting sets of time-dependent magnetic signals, determining the zeroth and the first derivations of each set of the magnetic signals at a given time, and categorizing the zeroth and the first derivations of the magnetic signals in either of the four phases: (+, +), (&#x2212;, &#x2212;), (+, &#x2212;), (&#x2212;, +). The method may also include monitoring a wave propagation of the magnetic signals.

The present invention is directed to methods for quantitatively measuring biomolecules by using magnetic nanoparticles. Through the use of the magnetic nanoparticles and the bioprobes coated to the magnetic nanoparticles, the biomolecules conjugated with the bioprobes result in the formation of particle clusters. By measuring the changes in magnetic properties resulting from the existence of the bio-targets, the amount of the bio-targets in a sample to be tested can be measured.

A superconductive quantum interference device (SQUID) system is provided for measuring the alternating current (AC) magnetic susceptibility of material at a single frequency or a mixing frequency from multiple frequencies, such as mf+nf, where fand fare two excitation frequencies of two primary coils. The system includes a magnetic-flux sourcing unit for producing an AC magnetic flux on a sample and a magnetic-flux reading unit for reading the induced magnetic flux from the sample via a magnetic flux transformer. A method for designing and tuning a refractive index of a magnetic fluid is performed by adjusting some characteristic parameters. The characteristic parameters include the type of carrier, the type of magnetic particles, the concentration of the magnetic ingredient; the wavelength of an intended light onto the magnetic fluid layer; the strength of applied magnetic field; the sweep rate of the magnetic field; the direction of the applied magnetic field; the strength of applied magnetic field associated with the thickness of the magnetic fluid layer; and the strength of applied magnetic field associated with the temperature. A magnetic fluid with a designed value of refractive index under zero magnetic field is synthesized by carefully selecting the carrier and the volume concentration of the magnetic particles, and this value can further be tuning around the designed value by changing the forgoing characteristic parameters.

Method for designing and tuning and system for measuring a refractive index of a magnetic fluid

Methods for preparing homogeneous magnetic fluid compositions capable of forming ordered one dimensional structures or two dimensional lattices in response to externally applied magnetic fields are disclosed. The compositions are prepared using improved co-precipitation methods in which the steps of the procedure have been tuned to reduce sample heterogeneity. Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4 particles are coated with a surfactant and dispersed in a continuous carrier phase to form a homogeneous magnetic fluid composition. The ability of the composition to generate ordered structures can be tested by holding a magnet near a thin film of the compositions and observing the formation of colors in the region near the magnet. Methods for controlling the characteristic spacing of the ordered structures formed by the composition are also disclosed. Relevant parameters include the thickness of the film, the strength and orientation of the externally applied magnetic field, the rate of change of field strength, the volume fraction of the magnetic particles dispersed in the continuous phase, and the temperature of the film. The homogeneous magnetic fluid composition is useful for the manufacture of liquid crystal devices. The devices take advantage of the serendipitous fact that the spacings in the material are on the order of the wavelength of visible light. A variety of magnetic-optical devices can be constructed that use the ordered structures to diffract, reflect, and polarize light in a controlled and predictable manner. These devices include color displays, monochromatic light switches, and tunable wavelength filters.
