An electrical component () includes a housing (), a number of terminals () molded within housing and at least one electrical element (). The housing has at least a side wall () having a number of recesses () and an internal cavity (). Each terminal has a first end () extending to a bottom of the side wall and formed with a platform portion () located onto the bottom of the side wall and aligned with the corresponding recess. The electrical element has a number of wires () wrapped thereon. One end of the wire extends outward the cavity through the recess and is soldered onto the corresponding platform portion. 

Electrical component and method for making the same

An electrical component () includes a housing (), a number of terminals () molded within housing and at least one electrical element (). The housing has at least a side wall () having a number of recesses () and an internal cavity (). Each terminal has a first end () extending to a bottom of the side wall and formed with a platform portion () located onto the bottom of the side wall and aligned with the corresponding recess. The electrical element has a number of wires () wrapped thereon. One end of the wire extends outward the cavity through the recess and is soldered onto the corresponding platform portion.

An electrical connector assembly has an insulative housing () defining a number of receiving spaces () and a number of contact modules () inserted in the receiving spaces. Each contact module comprises a first substrate () having a pair of substrate halves (), and a pair of conductive units respectively mounted on corresponding substrate halves. The first substrate has a number of circuit traces formed thereon and one electronic component () disposed on one substrate half. The circuit traces is electrically connected with the pair of conductive units and the electronic component. The pair of conductive units share the electronic component commonly via the circuit traces.

Electrical connector assembly having improved substrate

A modular jack assembly () for being mounted to a mother board includes an insulative element () and an electrical unit () mounted to the insulative element. The electrical unit has a housing (), a terminal module () assembled to the housing, a daughter board () attached to a side portion of the housing, a LED (Light Emitting Diode) () disposed on the daughter board and a connecting module () mounted bellow the housing. The connecting module has a base () and a mating portion () extending from the base, a number of pins () assembled to the base, and a number of contacts () located to the mating portion and mounted to the mother board. The contacts electrically connect with the LED by electrically connecting to the pins.

An electrical connector () mounted on a mother printed circuit board () includes an insulative housing (), a contacting module () having a pair of daughter printed circuit boards (), a grounding member () and an outer shield () enclosing the insulative housing. The grounding member has a base portion () connecting to the daughter printed circuit board and a contacting portion () extending downwardly for connecting with the mother printed circuit board. The outer shield has a protruding member () for contacting with the grounding member and a number of tines () extending downwardly therefrom in contact with the mother printed circuit board for grounding.

A modular jack assembly for being mounted on a mother board () and engaging with a mating plug. The modular jack includes a terminal module () having a base element () and a power over ethernet assembly () mounted to the base element. The base element defines a number of terminal slots () and has a number of connecting terminals () mounted thereto. Each connecting terminal has a first end () exposed at a side of the base element and a second end () connected with the power over ethernet assembly.

A modular jack assembly includes first and second contact-holding inserts () having first and second groups of interengaging elements (andand) between opposite bottom surfaces thereof. The first and second groups of interengaging elements are configured to interferentially engage the first contact-holding insert () with the second contact-holding insert () in respective first and second lateral and horizontal positioning directions (A, B). The second lateral and horizontal positioning direction (B) extends at approximately 90 degrees. from the first lateral and horizontal positioning direction (A). This arrangement will result in a reliable and stable positioning of the first contact-holding insert with respect to the second contact-holding insert.

An electrical connector () for engaging with a mating plug includes a terminal module () having an insulative insert () and rows of terminals () mounted to the insulative insert, a base element () and a daughter board () attached to a side face of the base element. The base element has a pair of opposite contacting portions () disposed on a front section thereof and a cutout () defined between the pair of contacting portions. The cutout is configured to cooperate with the terminal module with an inner edge () engaging to a corresponding passage () defined on a rear face of the insulative insert.
