A fan holder () includes a base () for supporting a fan () thereon and a pair of locking members () pivotally connected to the base. Each of the locking members includes a pivot shaft () and a handle () extending perpendicularly from the pivot shaft. The pivot shaft includes a pivot section () and a pressing section () offsetting from the pivot section and spaced from the base, wherein the handle is capable of rotating about an axis of the pivot shaft to lock with the base and to cause the pressing section to exert a force against the fan toward the base to securely attach the fan to the base.

Fan holder

A retainer includes a retention module surrounding a heat sink and two clip members for cooperating with the retention module to retain the heat sink. Each clip member includes a strap resting on the heat sink and a pair of legs located at opposite ends of the strap and engagable with the retention module. The legs are pivotably attached to opposite ends of the strap. Friction between the legs and the strap is capable of holding the legs at any positions between released positions at which the legs are free from the retention module and engaged positions at which the legs are engaged with the retention module.

Retainer for heat sink

A retainer () for a heat sink includes a supporting member (), a bracket member (), a pair of locking members () and an operating member (). The supporting member defines a pair of openings () at opposite ends thereof. The bracket member is located above the supporting member and has a pair of abutting portions () extending therefrom. The locking members respectively pass through the openings of the supporting member and are pivotably attached to the bracket member. Each locking member has a spring portion () depressed on one of said abutting portions to maintain the locking member at a releasing position. The operating member is pivotable relative to the bracket member to cause the bracket member and the associated locking members to move upward and the supporting member to drive the locking members to turn toward each other to a locking position.

Retaining device for heat sink

A fan duct includes an immovable cylinder and a movable cylinder. The movable cylinder is capable of sliding in an axial direction of the immovable cylinder. One of the immovable cylinder and the movable cylinder defines at least one groove in an axial direction thereof. Each groove defines at least two locating slots communicating with the respective groove. The other of the immovable cylinder and the movable cylinder forms at least one pin corresponding to the groove, the pin being capable of selectively sliding into any one of the locating slots. A related heat dissipation assembly including the fan duct is also disclosed.

Fan duct

The retention device comprises a clip and a back plate engaging the clip, the clip comprises pressing members for press the heat sink onto the processor and at least a pair of hooks, the back plate is placed below a printed circuit board on which the processor is mounted, and comprises a body and at least a pair of retaining rings mounted thereof. The retaining rings travel through mounting holes in the printed circuit board and beyond the top surface thereof for catching the hooks of the clip.

Heat sink retention device

A locking device () for mounting a heat sink () to a CPU (), includes a supporting member (), a pair of locking members () pivotably attached to the supporting member and each having a connecting portion () and a hook (), a pressing member () resting on the connecting portions, a spring installed between the supporting member and the connecting portions, and an operating member () pivotably attached to the supporting member. The operating member is pivotable between a first position at which the operating member abuts against the pressing member and the locking members are located at a released position and a second position at which the abutting portion releases the pressing member to allow the elastic member to drive the locking members to interlock with a retention module around the CPU.
