A cap assembly is usable with a print head device having nozzles to eject fluid there through. The cap assembly includes an outer cap member, a sealing member, an intermediate cap member, and at least one resilient member. The outer cap member includes a main portion, at least one hinge portion to engage with the print head device to allow movement of the outer cap member toward the print head device to place the nozzles in a cap state, at least one latch portion to engage the print head device in the cap state, and at least one pedestal support portion extending outward from the main portion. The sealing member may seal the nozzles of the print head device in the cap state. The intermediate cap member may be disposed between the sealing member and the outer cap member. The intermediate cap member may support the sealing member. The at least one resilient member may be disposed between the sealing member and the intermediate cap member to provide a sealing force on the sealing member to seal the nozzles of the print head device in the cap state. Additionally, the at least one pedestal support portion may be configured to contact an external surface to support the print head device in the cap state.

A fluid-jet precision-dispensing device includes a layer, one or more first holes within the layer, and one or more second holes within the layer. The first holes are adapted to pass fluid therethrough during usage of the device to precisely dispense the fluid at accurately specified locations. The second holes are adapted to not pass the fluid therethrough during usage of the device to precisely dispense the fluid at the accurately specified locations. The second holes may be adapted to at least substantially maximally pass gaseous bubbles therethrough during performance of a priming operation of the device. The second holes may be adapted to at least substantially maximally pass sludge and/or contaminants therethrough during performance of the priming operation of the device.

A connector for connecting to an ink container. In one embodiment, the connector includes a housing that defines an interior space, a latch lever pivotally mounted to the housing that is adapted to secure the connector to the ink container, and an internal switch provided within the interior space of the housing, the internal switch being configured to send a signal to a printer associated with the ink container when the switch is tripped, wherein the internal switch is tripped when the latch lever is pivoted by a user during disconnection of the connector from the ink container but before the connector is in fact disconnected.

In one embodiment, an ink container support includes a support tray adapted to support an ink container, and a front panel associated with the support tray, the front panel being adapted to facilitate user interfacing with the ink container when supported by the support tray.

A fluid interconnect for a fluid enclosure includes an overmolded sealing surface of a thermoplastic elastomeric material, the sealing surface having an opening, the sealing surface overmolded upon a thermoplastic surface of a fluid enclosure; and a wall of the thermoplastic elastomeric material connected to the sealing surface, the wall enclosing a pathway, the pathway communicating with the opening at a first end; and a layer connected to the wall, the layer closing the pathway at a second end.

An ink cartridge configured to hold an ink includes a substantially hollow body including an inner space and a substantially continuous inner wall. An optical prism in the inner space is disposed at a predetermined distance from the continuous inner wall such that an ink pocket is defined by a prism wall and the continuous inner wall. The prism includes at least one reflection site formed at an angle configured to reflect light from a light source through the prism at a predetermined height relative to a bottom of the body. If ink is present in the ink pocket at a level below at least a portion of the reflection site, the ink does not block the light reflected off of the portion of the reflection site from traveling across the ink pocket at the predetermined height, such that the reflected light is externally detectable by electronic means.

An ink cartridge configured to hold an ink includes a substantially hollow body including an inner space and a substantially continuous inner wall. The cartridge further includes an optical prism in the inner space, disposed at a predetermined distance from the continuous inner wall such that an ink pocket is defined by a prism wall and the continuous inner wall. The prism includes at least one reflection site formed at an angle configured to reflect light from a light source through the prism at a predetermined height relative to a bottom of the body. If ink is present in the ink pocket at a level below at least a portion of the reflection site, the ink does not block the light reflected off of the portion of the reflection site from traveling across the ink pocket at the predetermined height, such that the reflected light is externally viewable.

A user inserts one or more consumable enclosures into one or more corresponding slots of a printing device. The user engages a locking mechanism of the printing device into a corresponding feature of each consumable enclosure. The printing device detects user engagement of the locking mechanism. In response to the user performing a consumable enclosure-related action, the printing device substantially impedes user access to the locking mechanism and the consumable enclosures until the user has entered an unlock code.

A sealing component includes an elastomeric material. An exterior side surface of the elastomeric material is to define at least a first seal with a first external mating member into which the sealing component is insertable. An interior surface of the elastomeric material is to define a second seal and a third seal with a second external mating member insertable into the sealing component.
