Disclosed is a dental implant (1) comprising a post part (2) which can be placed in a jaw bone and comprising a structural part (4) associated with said post part, to which structural part a denture piece can be attached, the structural part comprising an integrally moulded contact pin (8) which can be placed in an associated shaped recess (10) in the post part (2) with a positive fit, thereby making it possible to suitably index the implant in a simple and reliable manner with a particularly high level of mechanical stability against rotation being ensured, even with an overall height which is kept low. For this purpose, the cross-sections of the contact pin (8) integrally moulded on the structural part and of the shaped recess (10), associated with said contact pin, in the post part (2) each have a number of primary directions in which the radius in each case adopts a relative maximum value, the outer contour of the cross-section being selected in such a way that it is intersected at most two points by any straight lines, and each point has only one tangent.

The present invention relates to a connection between a post part provided for being screwed into the jawbone and an associated superstructure part to which a dental prosthesis can be fastened. The connection between the post part and the superstructure part has a rotational self-centering action, wherein at least one of the surfaces provided for this purpose has a friction-minimizing modification and/or coating.

A dental implant system having a first implant part, provided for introduction into a jawbone, and having a second implant part, provided for attaching a tooth replacement part, the implant parts being mechanically interconnectable via a connection pin which is integrally formed on one of the implant parts and which is insertable into a receiving duct provided in the other implant part, is to have a particularly high stability and long duration of use, even when ceramic materials are used for the implant parts. A method for the production of a dental implant with a post part which can be introduced into a jawbone and with a mounting part assigned thereto, on which a dental prosthetic piece can be mounted, is to allow the dental technician to perform a simple indexing of the mounting part while drawing on current procedural steps. For this purpose, the apical end of the mounting part is shaped in order to adapt the external cross-section of the mounting part to the internal cross-section of the post part.
