A method for producing a granular material from sintered magnesia by sintering of pressed articles, in particular pellets, from MgO powder, preferably from caustic MgO powder, and subsequent mechanical comminution of the pressed articles, the sintering being carried out in such a way that the granular material has a grain porosity (total porosity), according to DIN EN 993-1:1195-04 and DIN EN 993-18:1999-01, of from 15 to 38 vol %, preferably 20 to 38 vol %. Also, a batch for producing a coarse ceramic, refractory, shaped or unshaped product containing the porous sintered magnesia, to such a product produced from the batch and to a method for its production, to a lining, in particular a working casing and/or a backing, of a large-volume industrial furnace, the lining, in particular the working casing and/or the backing, having at least one such product, as well as to such an industrial furnace.

A refractory, coarse ceramic product including at least one granular refractory material, has an open porosity of between 22 and 45 vol.-%, in particular of between 23 and 29 vol.-%, and a grain structure of the refractory material, wherein the medium grain size fraction with grain sizes of between 0.1 and 0.5 mm is 10 to 55 wt.-%, in particular 35 to 50 wt.-%, and wherein the remainder of the grain structure is a finest grain fraction with grain sizes of up to 0.1 mm and/or coarse-grain fraction with grain sizes of more than 0.5 mm.

Refractory coarse ceramic product and method for producing the same and its use

There is a process for creating graphite free non-fired refractory products, which are molded using presses and which includes using a plurality of different binders. The binders comprise a first binder for binding grains of granulation between room temperature and 400&#xb0; C., a second binder binding the grains of granulation between 300 and 900&#xb0; C.; and a third binder binding granulations of the refractory materials that enter into ceramic binding at temperatures above 900&#xb0; C. This process is for producing at least one of magnesia chromite bricks, magnesia spinel and spinel bricks, magnesia zirconia and magnesia zircon bricks, magnesia hercynite and magnesia galaxite bricks, dolomite, dolomite-magnesia, and lime bricks, forsterite and olivine bricks, magnesia forsterite bricks, magnesia pleonast bricks, magnesia bricks. These products are configured to operate as a fire-side, refractory lining of large-volume industrial furnaces operated with an essentially oxidizing atmosphere, for the production of cement, lime, magnesia, and doloma.

Process using non-fired refractory products as a lining of large-volume industrial furnaces and industrial furnaces lined with the non-fired refractory products

Disclosed are a fire-resistant ordinary ceramic batch and a fire-resistant product predominantly comprising a) at least one granular, fire-resistant, mineral, alkaline main component made of an MgO-based or MgO and CaO-based fire-resistant material that is based on at least one alkaline fire-resistant raw material, and b) at least one granular, fire-resistant, mineral, MgO-based, additional elasticator in the form of a forsterite material or a mixture forming forsterite material preferably as small molded articles, such as pellets or granulate that is comminuted from compacts. The small molded articles have a grain size ranging from 0.3 to 8 mm while being advantageously provided with a binder at an amount that elasticates the main component.

Fire-resistant ordinary ceramic batch, and fire-resistant product therefrom

A material for refractory shaped bodies or compounds, the material being a pleonaste and/or a spinel of the pleonaste type. In addition to FeOand AlO, the material also includes MgO. The ratio of the iron in the material is calculated as FeO:AlOand ranges from 30:70 to 60:40. The material contains from 20 to 60% by mass of MgO, as based on FeO+AlO.

Synthetic, refractory material for refractory products, and process for producing the product

A material for refractory shaped bodies or compounds, the material being a pleonaste and/or a spinel of the pleonaste type. In addition to FeO and Al O , the material also includes MgO. The ratio of the iron in the material is calculated as Fe O :Al O , and ranges from 30:70 to 50:40. The material contains from 20 to 60% by mass of MgO, as based on Fe O &plus;Al O .

A resistor, which is solidified from a melt, is provided for a refractory shaped body, and includes a refractory mineral metal-oxide main component having elasticizers a general formula A B O in an amount so that solubility of the main component for the elasticizer is exceeded with the elasticizers providing precipitation areas in the main component. The resistor is produced by a joint melting of the main component and the oxides which form the elasticizers. A process is provided for the production of the resistor.
