A method for producing 2-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl)anthraquinone (IHEAQ) that includes a Diels-Alder addition of naphtho-1,4-quinone and myrcene and an oxidation of the resulting adduct. The oxidation step is carried out in the presence of a solvent mixture that contains a polar and a nonpolar solvent. The oxidation takes place with air or an O -containing gas in the presence of a combination of a strong inorganic base and an organic, especially a nitrogen-containing base. The method leads to a higher space-time yield and higher product purity.

Method for producing 2-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl) anthraquinone

A method for the production of substituted 1,2,3- and 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzenes in a single process reaction step, wherein the corresponding substituted resorcinol which is a substituted 1,3-dihydroxybenzene is contacted with an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution and through control of the water content of the initial reaction condition and control of the reaction temperature the desired products are obtained.

Method for the preparation of substituted trihydroxybenzenes

Method for the conversion of resorcinol with aqueous hydrogen peroxide to obtain a mixture of 1,2,3- and 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzenes wherein the amount of water present in the initial reaction mixture is controlled to small amounts.
