It is provided a gas bag which is inflatable for the protection of a vehicle occupant, comprising: a first gas bag layer and a second gas bag layer, wherein a first fabric blank forms the first gas bag layer and a second fabric blank forms the second gas bag layer, wherein the first fabric blank and the second fabric blank each are woven from threads. The gas bag includes at least one elongate portion which extends along a longitudinal direction and which is formed by at least a part of the first gas bag layer and at least a part of the second gas bag layer.

Gas bag for an airbag module

A gas flow distributor for an airbag module for the specific distribution of a gas flow through which the released gas flows during inflation of the airbag is provided. The gas flow distributor comprises at least two sleeve parts which are made of a flexible material and are connected to one another by a seam. The seam absorbs the forces which are exerted on the sleeve by the gas flowing through it. An additional releasable connection of both sleeve parts is provided in at least some sections in order to absorb the forces exerted by the gas on the sleeve, wherein the additional connection cooperates with the sleeve for limiting the forces to be absorbed by the seam in such a manner that said connection is released when gas passes through the sleeve.

Gas flow distributor for an airbag module

A side airbag arrangement for a vehicle occupant restraint system includes an airbag which is provided for the protection of a vehicle occupant and which has at least two inflatable chambers which are in each case to assume a specific position in a motor vehicle after inflation. A functional band is provided, which is secured by a portion outside the airbag. At least a portion of the functional band exerts on at least one of the chambers of the airbag a holding force, which has the effect that the chamber, after inflation, assumes the position provided for the chamber.

Side airbag

An airbag system for a motor vehicle including a gas bag having first and second chambers. The system includes an inflator and a arranged in the connecting portion so that gas is guided into both the first and second chambers. The system includes at least one protective layer extending from the mass flow divider into the first chamber. Upon inflation of the gasbag, an inner pressure in the first chamber is significantly higher than an inner pressure in the second chamber, and wherein the protective layer comprises a flexible material deformed by the inner pressure in the first chamber to prevent gas from flowing from the first chamber through the connecting portion into the second chamber.

Airbag system

A side airbag device for a vehicle includes an airbag which is deployed in the event of an accident and, in the deployed state, covers a side wall section of the vehicle. In order for the airbag to reliably deploy, provision is made according to embodiments of the invention for the side airbag device to have a deployment control mechanism which deflect the airbag during its deployment around an obstacle situated in a region of a side wall section.
