A vehicle seat sensor unit includes a seat occupancy sensor configured for wirelessly communicating with a control unit, at least one first seat detection sensor member and at least one second seat detection sensor member. The first seat detection sensor member is arrangeable in one out of a lower vehicle seat portion of a vehicle seat that is mountable in a vehicle in a removable manner, and a vehicle cabin floor, and the second seat detection sensor member is attachable to the other one of the lower vehicle seat portion and the vehicle cabin floor. The first seat detection sensor member and the second seat detection sensor member are configured to physically interact if mutually arranged within a specific distance. The physical interaction results in a detectable change of a status of at least one out of the first seat detection sensor member and the second seat detection sensor member.

Wireless vehicle seat sensor unit adapted for removable vehicle seats

The invention relates to a seat occupancy sensor () comprising at least two switch elements () which can be activated by pressure. Said elements can be associated with the surface of a seat and are arranged at a certain distance from each other in such a manner that a first switch element () is associated with a first area of the seat and a second switch element () is associated with a second area of the seat. According to the invention, the first and second switch elements () are connected to each other in such a manner that a logical AND-linkage is produced. The first and second switch elements are, for example, serially connected in a particularly simple embodiment of the invention.

Seat occupancy sensor

The invention relates to a pressure sensor in the form of a film, comprising a first carrier film and a second carrier film which are arranged at a certain distance from each other by means of a spacer. The distance holder comprises at least one recess which defines an active region of the pressure sensor wherein both of the carrier films are arranged opposite each other, also comprising a first electrode and a second electrode and a layer made of pressure-sensitive material. The first electrode, the second electrode and the layer made of pressure-sensitive material are disposed in the active region on the first and/or second carrier film such that when the carrier films are pressed together through the pressure sensitive layer, electric contact is produced between the first and the second electrode. According to the invention, the pressure sensor comprises at least one third electrode which is disposed in the active region of the pressure sensor on the first and second carrier film such that when the carrier films are pressed together though the pressure sensitive layer, electric contact is produced between the third electrode and the first electrode and/or between the third electrode and the second electrode.

Pressure sensor in the form of a film

A vehicle seat having a heating device arranged in connection with the vehicle seat and connected to a control unit which includes a current-feeding apparatus for feeding a current to the heating device. The vehicle seat also includes a temperature sensor connected to the control unit for detecting the temperature at the heating device. The control unit is arranged to feed the current if the measured temperature falls below a pre-determined temperature value. An occupant sensor is also provided for detecting the presence of an occupant or an object in the vehicle seat. The occupant sensor is arranged as a single integral unit together with the heating device in the vehicle seat.
