In a mascara brush with a plurality of bristles being fixed between two intertwisted wire sections, standing out therefrom on both sides, and with the bristles having a noncircular cross section, it is provided, with a view to improving the mascara transfer properties, that, proceeding from conventionally extruded fibers, at least two of these fibers are connected to each other lengthwise in the form of lines or points.

In a mascara brush, with a plurality of bristles fixed in place between two twisted wire segments and extending to all sides away from these twisted wire segments, the wire segments being surrounded by a plastic coating, it is provided, for the purpose of achieving increased liquid absorbing capacity, that the plastic coating consists of a fluid absorbent, in particular open-cell, foamed material. It may further be provided that the foamed coating is roughened or fringed to such an extent that the bristles are formed by this roughening or fringing.

A dental brush comprises two intertwisted wire sections between which fibers for cleaning the teeth and tooth gaps are arrested by the twisting. In a brush, in particular a mascara brush, in which a plurality of bristles is secured between twisted segments of wire and extends on all sides from these twisted wire segments, it is provided for attaining a uniform distribution of tips while avoiding capillary effects at the bristles, that the bristles (4) are embodied as segments of fibers of round cross section, the diameter (D1 or D2) of which is alternatingly larger and smaller, viewed longitudinally.

The extent (E) of the angle at circumference of the return stop (10) in relation to the position of the start of the thread and the thread pitch and the position of the stop shoulder at the container shoulder (3) are chosen in such a way that in the course of closing, the catch projection on the screw closure cap (14) contacts the top of the return stop (10) and from there arrives in the stop position in the course of essentially downward movement.

Container for cosmetics, in particular mascara unit

The invention relates to a reservoir for cosmetics, in particular a mascara unit, comprising a main body of a comparatively soft plastic material, with a threaded neck, on which a screw cap can be screwed, with at least one stop shoulder and at least one return stop in the form of a locking arrangement being provided at the foot of the threaded neck at the shoulder of the reservoir to achieve a defined end position of the screw cap. In order to overcome the wear problems with such soft plastic material which are encountered by known devices, it is provided that an attachment of a comparatively hard material is arranged on the reservoir at the foot of the threaded neck, on which attachment the stop shoulder and the return stop are formed.

The invention relates to a mascara brush with bristles bound by twisting in a twin-layer wire core, the bristles consisting of multiple fibres bound by means of a binding agent which can be dissolved out. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method of manufacture of a mascara brush, the bound multiple layer bristles being bound by twisting into the wire core and subsequently, as a result of the dissolving out of the binding agent with a solvent, being split apart into the individual fibres.

In a device to apply cosmetic materials such as powders, pastes or similar substances by means of an applicator which is held against the surface of the cosmetic material in a storage chamber by spring pressure, it is envisioned that, in order to ensure a reliable and induced transfer of the cosmetic material to the applicator when the two housing parts are pulled apart, the pencil-like device be simple in construction, that the applicator (8) for the cosmetic material (19) be rotatably mounted within the respective housing part (1), and that, under the force of the spring (16) when the two housing parts (1 and/or 2) are separated, the rotatably mounted applicator (8) is revolved relative to the fixed storage chamber (18), while maintaining the surface contact between the applicator (8) and the cosmetic material (19) in the storage chamber (18).

An applicator device for a liquid, powder or pasty material includes a housing having a foil cartridge therein containing the liquid, powder or pasty material, and an ejector device is slidably mounted on the housing to provide for squeezing out the material from the foil cartridge for application at a desired site.

A disposable mascara tester for the hygienic testing of cosmetic materials includes a stem, an applicator attached to the stem, a stripper on the stem, and a plastic covering disposed about the stem, the stripper and the applicator. The plastic covering is sealed to thereby define a sealed capsule in which the stem, the stripper and the applicator are encapsulated. The applicator is operable to effect application of a sample of cosmetic material within the sealed capsule upon unsealing of the plastic covering.

An applicator device for the application of a liquid or pasty material includes a handle and an applicator detachably mounted on the handle, the applicator having a sealed chamber containing the liquid or pasty material. A manually operated release on the handle is operable to break the seal of the sealed chamber and to provide for release and application of such material from the applicator onto a desired site.
