A support unit for supporting a heating conductor of an exhaust gas heater on a carrier structure includes a supporting sleeve extending in the direction of a longitudinal axis and surrounding the longitudinal axis, a supporting pin having a sleeve connecting area extending in the supporting sleeve and an exhaust gas heater connecting area projecting beyond the supporting sleeve, wherein the supporting pin, at least in the area of its sleeve connecting area, and/or the supporting sleeve, on an inner surface surrounding the sleeve connecting area of the supporting pin, is coated with insulating material, and wherein the sleeve connecting area is held in the supporting sleeve by a force fit.

Support unit for supporting a heating conductor of an exhaust gas heater on a carrier structure

A connection unit connects an electrical supply line to an exhaust-gas heater of an exhaust system. The connection unit includes a connection element having an electrically conductive connection-element body. The connection element has an exhaust-gas heater connection region in a first axial end region and has a supply-line connection region in a second axial end region. The supply-line connection region includes an end portion of the connection-element body and a radial projection adjoining the end portion. A carrier element fixes the connection unit to an exhaust-system component. The carrier element has a carrier-element opening wherethrough the connection-element body passes. A support unit axially and radially supports the connection element on the carrier element.

Connection unit

A connecting arrangement electrically connects a heating conductor to an electrical connection line. The heating conductor includes a heating conduction element having an exposed end segment defining a first connecting region and the electrical connection line includes a connection line conductor having an exposed end segment defining a second connecting region. A connector mutually electrically connects the exposed end segments. A shielding sleeve surrounds the first connecting region, the second connecting region and the connector. The shielding sleeve has first and second sleeve end portions and the shielding sleeve is connected to the heating conductor in the first connecting region and is connected to the electrical connection line in the second connecting region and so shields the exposed end segment of the heating conduction element and the exposed end segment of the connection line conductor and the connector against external influences.

Connecting arrangement

A terminal pin, in particular for a terminal unit for the electrical contacting of a heating conductor of an exhaust-gas heater of an exhaust-gas system of an internal combustion engine, includes a pin body which is elongate in the direction of a pin body longitudinal axis and which has an outer connection region for the connection of a voltage supply line to the terminal pin, a cooling region, a leadthrough region for the electrically insulated leadthrough of the pin body through a pin support of a terminal unit, and an inner connection region for the connection of the terminal pin to a heating conductor of an exhaust-gas heater, a cooling surface formation being provided in the cooling region.

Terminal pin

A connection unit for connecting an electrical supply line to an exhaust gas heater of an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes an electrically conductive connection element. The connection element has a heater connection region in a first end region and a supply line connection region in a second end region. A carrier has a receiving opening, wherein the connection element is arranged and has a support region. A first insulating element is arranged in the opening and surrounds the support region. A second insulating element is arranged on a first end face of the carrier. The connection element is supported with respect to the first end face via the second insulating element. A third insulating element is arranged on a second end face of the carrier. The connection element is supported with respect to this second end face via the third insulating element.

An exhaust gas heater for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine includes a carrier arrangement, a heating conductor arrangement which is supported on the carrier arrangement and has at least one current-carrying heating conductor, and a connecting arrangement for the fixed connection of the heating conductor arrangement to the carrier arrangement. The heating conductor arrangement is supported on the carrier arrangement in an electrically insulated manner via the connecting arrangement. The connecting arrangement includes a plurality of connecting elements, the heating conductor arrangement being supported on at least one connecting element via an insulating carrier unit in an electrically insulated manner with regard to the at least one connecting element.

Exhaust gas heater and method for making the same

An exhaust-gas treatment module for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine has a plurality of elements which follow one another in an exhaust-gas flow direction. The elements include a first mixing path with a first reactant dispensing arrangement in an upstream end region of the first mixing path and with a first mixing channel which is elongate in the direction of a first mixing path longitudinal axis. A first exhaust-gas treatment arrangement follows and is elongate in the direction of a first exhaust-gas treatment arrangement longitudinal axis and has an upstream end region connected to a downstream end region of the first mixing path, a second mixing path with a second reactant dispensing arrangement in an upstream end region which is connected to a downstream end region of the first exhaust-gas treatment arrangement.
