The electric motor is a fitment to a customer's unit and in particular to a customer's electronic throttle control unit. The motor comprises a can-like metal housinghaving one or more outwardly extending flangesand an end capclosing the open endof the housing. The end capcomprises a plastic inner partwhich fits within the open end of the housingand which supports motor terminalsand brush gearfor the motor. The end capalso comprises a metal outer partwhich has one or more portionsextending over the flange or flangesof the housing. The flange(s) of the metal housing and the aforesaid portion(s) of the metal outer part of the end caphave aperturesfor receiving fastening members whereby the motor can be connected to the customer's unit.
