Aspects of the present disclosure allow for more efficient rate matching by allowing a triggered A-ZP-CSI-RS set to support rate matching around multiple slots. Aspects of the present disclosure may allow a triggered A-ZP CSI-RS set to be applied to less than all scheduled PDSCH slots when DCI schedules PDSCH on multiple slots. Aspects of the present disclosure may extend CSI-RS resource mapping to span multiple adjacent slots. In another instance, aspects of the present disclosure allow a resource mapping configuration to indicate an initial symbol of a plurality of symbols spanning the plurality of slots for a respective A-ZP-CSI-RS resource. Doing so also allows a PDSCH transmission in a slot among the plurality of slots using a rate matching pattern associated with a set of A-ZP-CSI-RE resources to be received. In addition, aspects of the present disclosure can also add periodicity to A-ZP-CSI-RS resource set configuration.

Aperiodic zero power channel state information reference signal enhancement for multi-slot PDSCH rate matching

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. Some aspects more specifically provide procedures and configurations used to perform, at a transmitter, probabilistic amplitude shaping (PAS) of quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) communications using non-binary polar coding (NBPC). NBPC differs from binary polar coding (BPC) in that BPC uses a binary-input channel whereas NBPC uses a non-binary input channel. For example, while BPC uses a log likelihood ratio (LLR) with a single value corresponding to a given bit to be shaped, NBPC may use a probability mass function (PMF) to define or represent amplitude shaping target values. As another example, aspects use non-binary transformations, which reduce the number of passes to shape q bits from q passes (for BPC) to 1 pass (for NBPC).

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a network node, an indication of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) processing unit (PPU) limit associated with the UE. The UE may receive configurations for a plurality of search space sets, wherein the plurality of search space sets includes one or more linked pairs of search space sets with linked PDCCH candidates for PDCCH repetition. The configurations of the one or more linked pairs of search space sets may be based at least in part on the PPU limit associated with the UE. Numerous other aspects are described.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a throttling indicator for a shared resource associated with a modem at the UE. The CE may determine a configuration of the modem based on a configuration received from a Radio Resource Control layer of the UE. Based on the modem configuration and the throttling indicator, the UE may identify a throttling level to apply to the modem. The UE may adjust the modem configuration for communicating with a base station based on the throttling level in order to reduce resource usage below a usage threshold. By reducing usage of the shared resource by the modem, the UE may have a greater availability of the shared resource to meet the needs of other components of the UE. This may provide an improved user experience at the UE, among other benefits.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described Techniques described may be utilized to avoid errors caused by resource allocation calculations, which may be indicated via higher layer signaling and/or determined within DCI. A base station may transmit downlink control information indicating resource allocation types to avoid errors. In other cases, the UE and/or base station may designate a particular resource block group size to avoid the potential errors. The UE and/or base station may calculate a number of resource blocks groups for a bandwidth part and allocate the size of the resource block group based on the calculation. The UE and/or base station may conduct a comparison between a bandwidth part size and a resource block group size to determine whether to designate a different resource block group size to avoid the errors. Similar techniques may be utilized in allocating resources for precoding resource block groups.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) determine that at least one packet of a set of packets for a downlink message is unsuccessfully received at a radio link control (RLC) layer of the UE due to a specific situation of a set of specific situations and may transmit the NACK message based on the missing packet (s) on an as needed basis rather than waiting for a timer to expire (e.g., a fast NACK mechanism). In some examples, the specific situations may include the UE missing packets after a measurement gap, missing packets based on wake up latencies for a discontinuous reception mode of the UE, missing packets due to interference from reference signals transmitted by neighboring cells, missing packets due to the UE not decoding retransmissions that have a same redundancy version (RV) of a downlink message, or a combination thereof.

A new radio (NR) bit prioritization procedure that may be executed by a UE and a base station is disclosed, resulting in transmission and reception of modulation symbols having prioritized bits. For example, a transmitter may encode a code block using low-density parity-check code to generate a stream of encoded bits. The transmitter may arrange the encoded bits in one or more modulation symbols according to a relative priority of the encoded bits. The highest priority bits may be located in the most significant bits of the modulation symbol, and therefore be less likely to experience errors. A receiver may receive the modulation symbols and reorder the encoded bits according to the coding scheme based on the relative priority prior to decoding the encoded bits. The prioritization of the bits within the modulation symbols may provide improved block error rates over sequential mapping of encoded bits to symbols.

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to techniques for mitigating interference caused by legacy reference signals from neighbor cells (e.g., LTE cell-specific reference signals) to non-legacy downlink transmissions in a serving cell (e.g., NR/5G PDSCH transmissions).

In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may determine, for each subcarrier spacing (SCS) configuration of a set of SCS configurations, a threshold number of overlapping PDCCH candidates within a time interval. The UE may receive, from a base station, signaling indicating one or more PDCCH monitoring configurations. In some examples, the UE may monitor the PDCCH for control information according to the one or more PDCCH monitoring configurations and a number of overlapping PDCCH candidates, where the number of overlapping PDCCH candidates may satisfy (e.g., be less than or equal to) the threshold number of overlapping PDCCH candidates.

Disclosed is a method of wireless communication. The method is performed at a first wireless node. The method comprises: obtaining a sequence of bits to be encoded, selecting a puncturing pattern from a plurality of puncturing patterns, generating, based on the sequence of bits to be encoded, a sequence of parity bits in accordance with a binary linear block coding scheme, puncturing, based on the selected puncturing pattern, at least one of the sequence of bits to be encoded or the sequence of parity bits, generating a plurality of modulation symbols based on remaining bits in the sequence of bits to be encoded and based on remaining bits in the sequence of parity bits, and transmitting, to a second wireless node, the plurality of modulation symbols.

The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for wireless communication including an apparatus, e.g., a UE and/or a base station. The apparatus may measure a RSRP of a CRS for each of a plurality of neighboring cells. The apparatus may also calculate an interference strength of each of the plurality of neighboring cells based on the RSRP measurement of the CRS for each of the plurality of neighboring cells. Additionally, the apparatus may compare a PDSCH demodulation performance of the UE based on rate matching for a CRS offset associated with each of the plurality of neighboring cells with the PDSCH demodulation performance of the UE based on skipping the rate matching for the CRS offset. An apparatus for wireless communication is provided. The apparatus may be a receiver device that includes an error correction decoder, such as a low-density parity check (LDPC) decoder. The apparatus may achieve power savings and/or operation cycle savings by disabling the error correction decoder in scenarios where bits of a codeword in a signal transmission are received without errors. The apparatus obtains a first set of bits of a codeword, wherein the codeword includes the first set of bits and a second set of bits, and wherein the second set of bits is punctured. The user equipment (UE) may initiate a successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding procedure, and may perform the SCL decoding procedure across various nodes (e.g., for each information bit through a decoding tree). At each node, the UE may determine whether a relationship between a first path metric and a second path metric satisfy a threshold. In some examples, the UE may determine whether multiple thresholds are satisfied. If conditions are satisfied (e.g., the relationship between the two path metrics satisfies a threshold), then the UE may decrease a list size of the SCL decoding.
