Disclosed is a display apparatus that seals a gap space between a display panel and a cover sidewall by an upper optical film attached to an upper surface of the display panel, wherein the display apparatus may include a rear cover with a space; a guide frame received in the space; a display panel supported by the guide frame; a panel connection member for connecting the display panel with the guide frame; and the upper optical film, wherein the cover sidewall covers side surfaces of the display panel and the upper optical film, and an end of the upper optical film is inserted into an optical film insertion groove formed in an inner surface of the cover sidewall so as to cover and seal the gap space between the display panel and the cover sidewall.

Disclosed is a three dimensional liquid crystal display device (3D LCD device) which facilitates to improve a picture quality of a three-dimensional image (3D image) by color and luminance corrections, and a method for driving the same, wherein the device comprises an image data analyzer which analyzes a luminance level for each of R, G, and B colors of original image data inputted to display the 3D image; an image data converter which generates color correction data for adjusting a color balance of the R, G, and B colors distorted by the shutter glass, and generates gamma correction data for compensating a luminance reduction, on the basis of luminance analyzing results provided from the image data analyzer; and a timing controller which converts the input image data into image data of a frame unit, reflects the color correction data and the gamma correction data in the image data of the frame unit, and supplies the corrected image data to a data driver.

Three dimensional liquid crystal display device and method for driving the same

In order to improve video quality by accurately detecting a preferred color region and correcting the preferred color region to a target color, a method for correcting a color of a display device includes converting input R/G/B data into Y/Cb/Cr data, calculating a weight by an exponential function using a dispersion and a distance between an input value and a target value of the Y/Cb/Cr data, comparing the calculated weight with a target color range so as to detect a target color region, and calculating a detection probability, detecting an average value, a minimum value and a maximum value of the Y/Cb/Cr data for the detected target color region from a previous frame, calculating a correction constant using the average value, the minimum value and the maximum value of the Y/Cb/Cr data, a predetermined target value of the Y/Cb/Cr data, and the Y/Cb/Cr which is detected as the target color region and is input, adding the detection probability to the calculated correction constant as the weight so as to calculate a correction amount, correcting the input Y/Cb/Cr data using the calculated correction amount so as to output the Y/Cb/Cr data, and inversely converting the corrected Y/Cb/Cr data into R/G/B data.

Method and apparatus for correcting color of display device

Method and device are disclosed for adjusting a preferred color which enables a user to set a preferred color conveniently and a liquid crystal display device with the same. The method and device for adjusting a preferred color includes displaying a menu selection image and setting a variety of optional information, making successive display of at least one selection image which shows a plurality of selection images having information on preferred colors different from one another to set information on the preferred colors in succession, and storing the information on the preferred colors set and generating an image having preferred colors adjusted according to the information on the preferred colors stored.
