Provided is a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device including disposing an alignment solution including an alignment agent, reactive mesogens and a solvent on at least one of a first substrate or a second substrate. The alignment solution is cured to form a main alignment layer. A liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The main alignment layer and the liquid crystal layer are heated to elute the reactive mesogens into the liquid crystal layer.
