Disclosed is an organic light emitting display device and a method of driving the same that can improve compensation performance of degradation of a driving TFT. A method of driving an organic light emitting display device comprises generating an estimated degradation value of a driving TFT by using accumulated data through input data counting; compensating all the pixels of a display panel by using a first gain value, which is initially set, and the estimated degradation value; generating a sensing value by sensing all or some of the pixels of the display panel after driving is performed for a certain time; generating a second gain value by compensating the first gain value if an error between the estimated degradation value and the sensing value is more than a reference value; generating compensation data by compensating the estimated degradation value by using the second gain value; and compensating all the pixels of the display panel by using the compensation data.

Organic light emitting display device and method of driving the same

Disclosed is an organic light emitting display device, which is capable of compensating for variations in the characteristics of driving transistors, comprising a display panel including a plurality of pixels, each pixel having a driving transistor for operating a light emitting device to make the light emitting device emit light with a data current corresponding to a data voltage; a panel driver for detecting the characteristics of the driving transistors including at least one of mobility and threshold voltage of the driving transistor included in each pixel during a time period when there exists no user around the display panel, generating compensated input data by compensating input data according to the characteristics after the detection of the characteristics is completed, and generating data voltage through the use of the compensated input data; and a sensor for sensing whether or not there exists a user around the display panel, and supplying the sensing result to the panel driver.

Disclosed herein are a light emitting display which can compensate for a threshold voltage of a driving switching element, and a method for driving the same. A method for driving a flat panel display to improve an image quality and a lifetime of the flat panel display is disclosed. The method for driving the flat panel display includes the steps of: a) storing electric-charges contained in a parasitic capacitor of a data line and a pixel-storage capacitor (Cst) in each pixel via a pixel transistor connected to the data line, which enters a floating state during a predetermined time other than a light-emitting time caused by a data-current writing operation, until a current voltage reaches a threshold voltage of the pixel transistor; and b) performing the writing of a data current corresponding to a pixel to be driven by the data line via the pixel transistor, such that the flat panel display emits light.
